^I have like 60 subscriptions on Youtube. It's pretty nuts. It's pretty much what's playing when I'm doing chores that don't require focus, or exercising, or getting dressed. Even with that, I have a playlist of hour+ videos that I didn't have time to watch when they dropped and that's like 80 deep now.

Picked up the movie last Wednesday and watched it last night. Saw Emerald Enthusiast's vid this morning (which I recommend once you've seen the movie). Here's what I posted there.
SPOILERS
I pretty much agree (watched it last night). I'd probably say B because some of those changes are baffling and I feel like the arrow thing could've been explained with 10 seconds of dialogue. But it was a good story and representation of John, who is probably my second fav GL.

If I was to grade the movie I'd probably give it a C- at best. Probably in fairness, I would give it a D.
I would boost it up to C- because I like that it acknowledged a highly neglected fanbase: John Stewart DCAU fans. Even though some purists don't like it, that is a popular incarnation of Green Lantern, and for the most part, fans of it haven't received anything since DCAU basically ended in 2006, which is a very long time ago. I like that it reunited John and the Shayera version of Hawkgirl after so long because it seems there's been an embargo on those two having a relationship or anything to do with each other in anything since DCAU, despite it being a popular relationship with fans.
That said...I didn't think it was a particularly enjoyable film in its own right. It's pretty boring, tries to do too much, loses sight of its characters, and only really excels at fight scenes, and even then there are questionable elements to those. I understand that this universe wants to focus on John, and I think that's great, but it doesn't mean Hal Jordan needs to be dragged through the mud. It would have been better if they didn't acknowledge him. Plus, while trying to prop up John, I think they end up undermining him by taking so many aspects of other Lanterns' stories and giving them to him. If they weren't sure what to adapt from John Stewart's publication history, they could have written an original story like the Justice League episode "Hearts and Minds."
