So what happened to the little black girl GL with the powerpack-powered glove? Is she still around or did they jettison her?

She's actually part of the current storyline, but in the background. Apparently her gauntlet is part of how the Unite Planets are manipulating the emotional spectrum or some such thing. She's only been "on screen" a few brief moments in the past year.

It bugs me that they went ahead and gave her an actual ring. I can't recall anything she did that would have warranted that. And they are continuing with the retcon of her being some kind of tech genius who hacked the gauntlet, when she just got handed it in a junkyard by a dying alien, and it immediately worked for her with no action taken on her part.
