Total Justice comics aside, I've got that Kyle figure. But it's the first time I see those ring construct snap-ons. Did they release the figure in two editions?

That might be. I have one with the snap-on armor (out of box) and I've seen pictures that look like the same model without it. I still bet even in the TJ comics (which I didn't read) that he doesn't shoot frisbees at his enemies.
