That's what I'm thinking. Larfleeze is just occupying the 5th GL spot on the printing schedule until Sinestro is ready to debut.

Originally posted by Mister.Weirdo View PostGL sales are starting to dwindle (of course comic book sales in general are dwindling). Interestingly enough though, this was the biggest month for comic books in 16 years.
Course if sales continue to be poor (which they more than likely will) than the writers (Venditti and co) might be getting the boot soon.

I'm sure DC lowered their expectations when they put a "no-name" creative squad on all these books. For GL to still be selling this well, just below the heavy hitters and event comics, is pretty good. They aren't paying Venditti and Tan like they pay Johns and Mahnke so its got to be looking that much better for them than it does to us.
The GL book (or even franchise) has never really been that poor of a seller anyway. It tends to sell better than a lot of non Batman-Superman books.
I admit I'm a little biased, since I'm not a fan of Venditti's run thus far.Last edited by Mister.Weirdo; 11-13-2013, 04:04 PM.

Sales have just been released, and while all of the books saw increases in number rankings, the sales for Green Lantern, Green Lantern: New Guardians, and Red Lanterns all went down a little. Surprisingly GLC sales actually went up a little (probably due to the Batman event, year zero).

Larfleeze is down to 16K and they still haven't pulled the plug. In the March solicits it's still an ongoing with no final issue blurb. At this point I think there's no disputing the idea that it's just a placeholder on the printing schedule until the Sinestro title is ready to roll out.
I really wish the would take out Red Lanterns at the same time when they launch the Sinestro book, so there are four GL titles a month instead of five. There's just too much dead weight right now.
