The last time ANY of the four human GLs were great was the end of the Sinestro Corps War arc. Green Lantern has been slumming it ever since.

That's one of the big problems with Green Lantern (probably the biggest). Fans are often fans of it for COMPLETELY different reasons, and while that might sound like a good thing when you say it, the reasons are often conflicting and it makes it so there isn't a lot of unity and a lot of fracturing and frustration within the fanbase, because it's difficult to appease all these people with wildly conflicting expectations and interests.

When Geoff added so much to it, the result was not more fans but fewer of them. That's because it necessarily meant there was less and less of what anybody had liked.

If you didn't like the emotional spectrum, or Baz and Cruz, or Hal in space, then you were just out of luck. What you liked wasn't even a side dish any more.

Geoff needs to own the magnitude of his mistake and consent to someone else doing a reboot. Someone with an extensive knowledge and appreciation of the pre-Marz Green Lantern, and who is not a fan of what Geoff did to it.

Diamond isn't lying and DC isn't either. What I meant by puffing is that when a company really wants to sell a title, it'll offer a special deal whereby if a comics shop doesn't sell all the copies it orders, it can return the extra ones for a refund. This encourages the shops to order more copies of that title than they otherwise would.

I read that DC did this with The New Guardians, and that it increased the monthly orders through Diamond by about 5K. It stands to reason that this is what's happening with Green Lanterns too.
