BOOM! Studios and DC Comics will team up again, and CBR has the first details. A six-issue “Planet of the Apes/Green Lantern” miniseries is slated to debut in February 2017, and here’s a look at a teaser image announcing the story:At this point, those are the only details yet available on the miniseries — the reveal of the creative team and cover artists is slated for after New York Comic Con, near the next cycle of monthly publisher solicitation information.

So is Hal playing the Charlton Heston "Taylor" position, astronaut/pilot landing on strange planet? Hey since it is a DC crossover maybe they can use Gorilla Grodd too, I always felt that Grodd would make for a cool Hal antagonist.

Though it will likely be a letdown, I have to have this. GL and POTA? My favorite comic character and one of my top movie series? Hell yeah I'm in.
The way it seems to work would be to have Hal get stranded in the first issue with a drained ring, and not get it charged until the last issue. Anything else would make it a one sided asskicking. Sounds like the kind of thing that would be better off as a oneshot than six full dragged out issues for the sake of selling the trade.

I'm sure it sounds like an absurd crossover on paper, but I'm really liking the idea of a GL / POTA crossover personally. I think it has a lot of potential anyway.

Nice line work. Can't say another uber lantern with the Phantom's ring is a selling point for me though. I've never wanted a Lantern title to be more about actual Green Lanterns only and not the color/adjective Lantern of the week.

I must say, that cover does make me realize that the best way to "protect" the Phantom Ring IS to give it to somebody you trust. I figure if it is so amazingly powerful, then it can be used to protect itself, and if somebody is able to defeat you and take it, then they are probably powerful enough already that having it won't actually make them any MORE dangerous.
