Simon Baz or Jessica Cruz... who is more superfluous?

Neither Simon Baz or Jessica Cruz seem to have resonated with anyone. The question I pose is this:

Which one is more superfluous, or least necessary?

Baz is marginally more superfluous given that Cruz isn't actually a Green Lantern. That being said neither has been fleshed out so there's not much there in either case.

I can't imagine a scenario where I accept either of them. Kill them both now, and have them retconned away over time.

I vote Simon, because at least Cruz is a lady and she is THE Power Ring. In other words, she actually fills a somewhat unique role. Baz is just another male GL from Earth.

Easily and by far, Simon Baz. At least Jessica Cruz has the potential to eventually become a great enemy of the GLC if the ring takes over her body.

Simon is just another Earth Lantern, and he got the ring accidentally; it was errenous, and images of Sinestro popped out of it when he tried using it. I'm waiting and hoping for the ring to just fly away from him, but since he is a GJ creation, he'll be around forever and for no reason.

I'm waiting and hoping for the ring to just fly away from him, but since he is a GJ creation, he'll be around forever and for no reason.

I really would love to have the ring abandon him at the worst possible time. Like he's at the bottom of the sea investigating some shipwreck and the ring flies away, and he's crushed to pulp by the pressure of 5 mile deep water.

I also like the idea that it flies away from him seconds before some government agents jump him from behind and put a black bag over his head and throw him in a van. He's taken to some Gitmo-like facility, nobody ever thinks to go looking for him (because the superhero community is like the fan community and doesn't care about him at all) and he's never seen again.
