Oh, I doubt that Guy and Kyle are going away. But really, who thinks they're going to get it right this time? Who can remember the last time they did? To imagine that it'll be different this time is once again the triumph of hope over experience.

Well, I meant to vote "No," but it looks like I hit the "f no" by mistake (my stubby figers on iPad).

Now, if it sells like gangbusters, far outstripping the current series, they might put those plans on hold and milk it for as long as they can, but I doubt they are going into this without a plan to bring the GLC back to the home universe down the road.

You two and your constructs...
Well, faux Alan will make very creative and cool ones on Earth 2 that will keep you happy. And what happens on Earth 2 will stay on Earth 2.

Lost Army solicitation:
GREEN LANTERN: THE LOST ARMY #1
"Imagine waking up in a strange place where you didn’t recognize anything, and everyone you knew and loved was nowhere to be found. Now imagine that you are a Green Lantern. The rest of the Corps is missing, you don’t know where you are and there’s not a Power Battery to be found for as far as your ring can scan. Where are you? How did you get here? Those are just two of the many questions facing our heroes.
"Starring John Stewart, Two-Six, Kilowog and Arisia, and featuring a surprise guest-star we promise you’ll never predict, LOST ARMY is an incredible journey of discovery, survival, morality and heartbreak. Never has the Corps been challenged in this way – and not everyone is going to make it home!"
Nrama: So let’s start with the new one, Green Lantern: Lost Army. Who are we dealing with here?
Bunn: Simply put, the lost army is the Green Lantern Corps. As we go into June, we find that 99% of the Green Lanterns have vanished from the DC Universe. They wind up in a completely different universe, and they’re lost. The story becomes one about how they got there, who put them there, and how they’re going to survive. This is a different universe. They don’t have access to their power batteries the way they’ve had in their past. So they have to rely on their wits, and see how they’re going to survive in this new world.
Nrama: Is there a central character or characters in this?
Bunn: Hal Jordan is still in the main DC Universe. He’s one of the 1% that stayed behind. But because there are so many Green Lanterns, the only way I could tell a story that has some emotional impact is to focus on a few core characters. So John Stewart, for instance, is one of our lead characters in the series, as is Kilowog. There’s a core cast of five characters. Some are new, some are the old standbys you’d expect, and some may be older Lanterns who may come as a bit of a surprise.
Nrama: DC’s solicits mention Stewart, Kilowog, Two-Six, Arisia, and “a surprise guest-star we promise you’ll never predict.”
Cullen, there’s got to be some sort of connective tissue, I would guess, between Green Lantern: Lost Army and Sinestro. So what is the link-up there?
Bunn: There are a few things that will connect the stories. First, from a macro- perspective, Sinestro sees that the Green Lanterns are gone. This is his moment. It’s now time for the Sinestro Corps to ascend, in his mind.
So, there will be five core characters. We have John Stewart, Kilowog, Arisia... and maybe Two-Six, going by the solicitation.

I can completely understand thinking constructs are goofy, but to me that just means you don't like Green Lantern. It's like saying "I like Spiderman, but the spider powers are stupid" or "I like Superman, but he shouldn't fly or be strong."

When I was 5 and first noticed GL on Superfriends it was because he could make whatever he wanted with his ring. That's what set him apart. There are dozens of superheroes that can fly and shoot. That's boring.

you have to support yourself to write it by putting yourself to pitch for dc, otherwise you're doing nothing but writing fanfiction dude

Spy, you should just enjoy your fanfiction for what it is. If you're not getting published, then that's all it will ever be. So enjoy it, and stop thinking we're your gateway to getting a GL gig. Most of us haven't even read it.
Back to actual comics, I saw the solicit for The Lost army and was fine with that premise, but I didn't yet realize the full scope of this. We'll have to wait several issues before we even see what's going on with the other GLs? With Kyle and Guy being two of the GLs we won't see for a while? I really don't know about that.
Meanwhile bandana clover chick and terrorist guy get to stay on Earth? WTF is with THAT?!?
And who is this GL we will never see coming? Are they bringing Charlie Vickers out of the mothballs or something?

You can decide at that time. That's why I'll be able to write this stuff in my spare time before then. Anyway, if I sell a screenplay to break in, why would I then jump at the chance to write a comic book? How are comic books now supposedly the final destination for writers? I don't see such great writing being done in them that would support that idea. It should be the other way around, and to me it is.
You're not in a position to pitch to DC, it's well known that they only invite people with previous writing credits to pitch to them. Now maybe you are working on getting to that point but if you are, you haven't shared it with us. Instead you just post in multiple threads about how you should be writing GL.
