I wouldn't say she was being a bitch, but I do feel she gave Iolande the Ring to "rub it in her bros face". I think, just as Sinestro, Natu does get a certain amount of joy from seeing others suffer, if they deserve it. I think thats why Sinestro made a point about her fearing becoming like him.

Anyway, this was a choice made out of emotion. A good choice? maybe, there could have been a much more deserving person out there than Iolande tho. She never proved herself to me.

I think the ring being given to Iolande was more a lack of options, since her brother had offed all other candidates.

I´ve posted this pic on another board and it started a rather interesting discussion on Natu. Was she handing out justice or just add insult to injury when she nominated Iolande into a Green Lantern in front of her brother?

Bear in mind what her brother did, our what would he do enventually.

Well then I take it back. But I still liked Myrtt [or was it Myrrt?] a lot better. He just seemed like a comedic character with a lot of personality in the few scenes we saw him in.

Charlie Vicker was one Lantern given a ring I didn't like the idea of when selected by another Lantern.

Natu didn't select Iolande. She was already selected Salaak gave Natu the ring and told her who to give it to, he also told her (more or less) to 'choose the right time to do so'.

I'm thinking this is exactly what Sal had in mind.

Besides the punk deserved to have it rubbed in his face, he didn't just kill a Lantern and try to kill others, he killed dozens of good people, heroes across the sector including his own brother so he'd be selected when he engineered the death of a Lantern.

Oh, I love Soranik Natu for these very reasons. You can't help but love her when she is a major bitch of being the best damn doctor around. She is a very round character.

It bothers me sometimes when Lanterns break the mold and are given rings by another Lantern. What do the Guardians think of Lanterns handing out rings? That's what I wonder....

But I agree it was a bitch move to do it in front of the guy just before getting the axe. He would've made for a decent Red Lantern had he lived....
