Geoff didn't like them, they didn't mesh with his Alpha Lantern concept that hasn't been used in a decade, so the Corpse had to go.

I thought it was more because they'd be redundant once he created the "Lethal Force Authorized" rule, one of the 10 rules he never even got halfway through revealing.
