And with that... Hal Jordan died the hero in Final Night #4.

Parry, I have to agree that death scene in Final Night is probably one of the most underrated deaths in all of comics. It was that great.
My personal favorite is when Kyle caused and contained the Solaris supernova in DC One Million. Then later in the same issue when Superman emerged from the sun with the "Lost Power Ring of the Green Lantern" and took care of business.Comment

When with Tomar Re's dying breath in GL #198 (congruent with the events of Crisis #12), he put his ring on John Stewart. John exclaims, "But I already AM a Green Lantern!" To which the ring says, "Yes, but you are wearing Hal Jordan's ring". The ring flies off John's finger and slides onto Hal's, and his classic GL uniform reappears, even while he is trying to comfort his dying friend. The GL's weary from their great battle to save the dark moon of Qward, all light up their rings in acknowledgment of Tomar Re's dying wish...and are reminded that "Once a Green Lantern, Always a Green Lantern".

my favorites are Hal returning to life getting his ring back and taking on sinestro in rebirth.
Hal knocking out bats in rebirth.
Hal's death in final night
Kyle RINGless in parallax view after all the heros are out of commision going after hal unwilling to back down.
Coast city refusing to leave and lighting the windows in green
Hal Smacking sinestro with a 2X4.... (hows that for a contruct)
