Can I skip FC?

Ok, I understand. Like now, I'm reading the Batman RIP arc and of course they have a checklist of other books that I should read to further push the story. All tie-ins aren't necessary to read though. I think its pretty obvious to catch the issues that are essential to the story you really want to read. As of right now, I plan on picking up most of the FC tie-ins, because they all sound great and it will make the FC event THAT much better.

Guest repliedYou misunderstand what I said. There should always be a DCU where all the characters can meet and guest star in each other's titles, I'm just tired of all the crossovers where you're forced to read Batman to find out something important about Flash. A good example of this is the Sinestro Corps War: other DC characters appeared where it was appropriate, but the story was contained to the GL books instead of spilling over into everyone else's titles. If you were a Flash or Batman reader that didn't care about GL you weren't effected.
Sorry if I wasn't clear before.GuestLast edited by Guest; 06-21-2008, 10:29 PM.

As long as we all continue to buy crossovers because we're afraid we'll miss something "important," DC and Marvel will continue to publish them and drop various "important" moments across their universes.
DC needs to go back to having each title be independent. That way they will be committed to quality on any book they want to sell.

Terrible. Even if you don't REALLY enjoy it. You'll probably miss out on future plots for your favorite character, including GL. You won't even be able to fully experience the tie-ins without the storyline..besides it 7 issues, its not that bad of a loss even if you hate it(which i doubt you will)

aside from green lantern related.
as a whole, Im thinking of not reading FINAL CRISIS. in regards to the main series and just pick and choose the tie-ins as they come out.
thoughts?

It's got too many things involved that pertained to characters I like, so I can't skip it. Plus, I read both Crisis I and Crisis II as they came out, so I might as well hang in there to finich the whole "trilogy".
But just on you being a GL fan alone, I'd say stick with it. It's only six more issues if you pass on the tie in material. It's not like signing on for an ongoing series that blows chunks and not knowing when to throw in the towel.

Come on you didn't see that picture of Darkseid and just laugh!
I figure Morrison will follow pretty close to what Johns what's him to do with GL and the Alpha's. That's really the only reason I'm sticking with it.

You won't need it for GL and GLC, but it has the potential to be a pretty wicked story.
I'm definitely sticking with it.

With one of the main GLs apparently blowing up a city and going on trial for his life, the heavy involvement of the Alpha-Lanterns... FC is probably not a must, but it's certainly big GL happenings.
And don't forget that the "Rage of the Red Lanterns" special is a Final Crisis tie-in.

Unless your a Flash fan, I don't think FC will matter much to you.
