I can see people who only ever read the Geoff Johns era coming into this being like, "Whaaat is this?" but Morrison is truly boiling things down and setting the clock back to when Green Lantern truly felt like Green Lantern.

With some added Morrison flair. More than OK with that. He understands storytelling better than anyone associated with Green Lantern in a decade or so.

I just read issue #2 tonight. I am loving this! It feels like all the garbage has been washed away. A lot of good things are missing too, but these 2 issues feel like a solid foundation of the core of what makes the Green Lantern concept and mythos work.

Sharp's art style is refreshing and I'm enjoying the groundwork that's being laid. However, it's too early for me to say that it's an upgrade over HJ&TGLC.

I worry what will happen to GL if it doesn't.

I'm scared about Geoff Johns re-writing the GL mythos for a potential new GL movie script, then DC shoving that tone and take down our throats over Grant's stuff when they try promoting the new movie. Either that will happen or it will turn back into their "diversity" staple, I think it just depends on the timing, but I can see this lasting for a couple years maybe.

Possibly, which is further argument that Kyle fans should at least try it. If Titans had a big spike exactly coinciding with Kyle tenure there, that would also send a message to DC.

Yeah if there isn't much of a bump for Titans with him there, or sales go back and even lower in 3 months on Titans, that doesn't send a good message to DC about Kyle fans craving seeing him.

As for Johns and the GL movie...I don't know man. Things are awful quiet on that front. WB seems to be maneuvering Johns into a good position to cut ties with him. If they suddenly decide to pass on his GLC script and go for another "vision", they can effectively kick him to the curb. And thats assuming this movie even happens.

Hopefully in the meantime, the Morrison GL title just keeps chugging along doing it's thing, slowly winning back the goodwill from GL fans they have lost in the last several years. Cross the movie tie in bridge when they get to it.
