Well Diamond and DC sent out promo items this week to help get even more excited for Blackest Night #1 next week. DC sent all retailers a promo Black Lantern Ring to show off what the promo rings will look like next week. They really should have sent these out a month or so ago before it was to late to increase orders for Blackest Night or order more bags of rings.

It seems bigger than the Green Lantern rings they did a few years back. But its a nice quality ring. Im excited to get one a week early. I get my bag next week! YAY!

I'm liking that Black ring. I placed a couple on hold at various Comic shops in my area. There were a few shops that had no idea what I was talking about when I inquired about the rings. Their response was, "Really?!?" One shop that didn't have a clue even had a "Blackest Night" display and a section entirely devoted to Green Lantern.

The green lantern ring is from the JLA Green Lantern Power Battery Prop that came out a couple months ago.

The black lantern rings are probably going to be limited. A retailer had to order 50 copies of Blackest Night #1 to receive 1 bag of 50 rings at 8.00 a bag.

When DC did the promo for Green Lantern Corps #1 a few years ago, the comic shop I was buying from made a list and gave rings out that way. Club members received first then left overs went to regulars. I think since it was a new book with a lesser known cast shops didnt over order. If I remember the shop I went to only ordered like 100 copies. Blackest night being an event they should order more but who knows. They may not want to spend the 8.00 for free give away.

I got a Black Corps ring today!!

I'll post this in a little while.... but after my weekly stop at my LCS, to my surprise my guy there handed me a black ring. That's right folks, not a knock off, the "offical DC Promo ring". A week early isn't it?

Now granted, as he said, it's just a plastic ring. But still, it's kewl.

Apparently he ordered 50 rings, but was only shipped (1). And since I was the first to ask about (weeks ago when it was first brought up here) he just handed it over to me. So yeah, it's a simple little ring, but still kinda happy about that.

I gotta dig out the camera, but I'll post pics in a little bit for those interested.
