I watched this again for the second time with my wife, and she was really interested in it. My wife is no way a geek of comic books, but since 2010 was the first time she attended SDCC and this documentary occurs duing that event only intrigued her more. She saw how passionate the designer was with costume making and was surprise on how much time they spent on them.

I wish they could have been there for the Blackest night figures, that would have been a far more entertaining.

Yeah, "The Collector" would have done the raffle as oppose to just running the con floor. That's what was missing from the film, the agony of defeat, the frustration of the process; and the rage of missing out. That was all on display while waiting in line trying to get the 2009 GL exclusives.

We should do that- Film one of the raffles to present to everyone the dark side of SDCC: Hanging around to find out where to line up, lining up at 3 different places and being misled by staff, the cutting in line, the rudeness of collectors... If you're on the outisde looking in and no nothing about what it takes to get exclusives, it probably looks like fun and games when it's the exact opposite. I wish I had filmed 09's GL Blackest Night raffle when that witch declared herself "The Line Goddess" and started screaming at people.

Or running out the hotel at 8am thinking you're ahead of the game just realize you still have to HOPE Hall H doesn't fill up.

Or being turned away at the door for the panel you came there for...

Or standing in line eating nutrigrain bars and honeybuns because you don't have time for a decent breakfast. lol

I can't wait for Comic Con!

              Update on the Survivor!

So I don't know why, but I came across an update on that Red Raven #1 Comic Book the "Survivor" ... owner of Mile High Comics ... was displaying and trying to sell for half a million dollars to help his business stay afloat. Actually I think I might have googled Red Raven #1 since I had never heard of that comic and wanted to get some info on it and why it was so rare and expensive.

Anyways, it sold in like November 2011 via a Heritage Auction for .... wait for it ... a bit less than $75K. A far cry from $500K!

So he did end up selling it, I guess they ended up needing the money. Sadly it didn't bring very much (relatively speaking) so I hope Mile High Comics is going to be OK.

Wow! Only $75K? (in comparison to $500K). I wonder was the starting bid was.

I found the audition video of "The Designer" Holly Conrad for the ComicCon documentary on YouTube.
