  • NYCC First Views of the final Futurama movie & Wonder Woman

Ok, first thing. Both were excellent movies.

I came in late and missed about the first 15 min of futurama, but from what I saw f the rest of the movie, it was hilarious. This was much better then beast of a billion backs and benders game though maybe not as good as benders big score. without revealing any story I will say that there were a ton of laughs and as the final futurama film, it closes the whole series quite nicely. you get a good sense of closure with this movie. A very fitting end to an excellent show.

Wonder Woman.... OH MY God!! it was excellent!! any of you who have theri doubts about this movie, remove them now. My friend was very reluctant to see this with me because... well its wonderwoman. luckily he was a firefly fan and when i told him nathon Fillion was in it he decided to join me. First off, its the bloodiest and most brutal of the DCAU movies, Bruce Timm even said that they originally got an R rating so they had to trim. Not only is it great on the violence side, but great with the comedy. nathon Fillions Character was getting tons and tons of laughs. then the story and voice acting was excellent making it a kick ass movie. Here's my take on it. For superman Doomsday, Justice league Final Frontier & batman gotham knights you need to either be a fan of the character or of bruce timms work. this movie stands alone for itself. Any regular person could enjoy this movie. One person even mentioned that this movie should get a theatrical release, and I totally agree. This is a DVD I am sure picking this up when it comes out march 3rd.

Sucks that they had to trim it down. The "R" rating might have ticked off some traditionalists though.

Geez, how much violence do you have to have to get an "R" rating for an animated movie? Or maybe the question would be, how graphically does it have to be portrayed? I would have thought that animated violence got a bit of a pass from the ratings board because of the unreality of it. So either I'm wrong about that, which is entirely possible, or the violence in this thing was originally so over the top that I wouldn't want to touch it with a 10-foot pole. Which is also probably entirely possible.

dude, there are a few decapitation in the movie, and dude, if waht you said was true then they would back off video games as well.

Well, most video games these days seem to go out of their way to make the violence as realistic looking as possible, so that would be more in line with live-action. Also, I think some people get bent out of shape by video game violence because YOU are the one perpetrating it as you play (not saying I have the same problem, just pointing out some differences that might explain animation and video games being treated differently.)

I mean, Itchy decapitated Scratchy, and worse, all the time, and that was on prime time TV. I guess I imagined that, for it to be a problem it would have to be depicted rather graphically, with an aim toward realism. I guess if that is what's happening here, then I can see where an R-rating might come from.

A few? I think everyone that died in that movie died from decapitation! lol

Speaking of video games, how sweet would one be based off this movie?
