Well i loved it. Very evil dead. Also john krasinki is mr fantastic. This movie was very horror like. Some scenes were even brutal. I prefer this over the first one and big props to liz olsen. Wanda was bad ass. Chavez was cool For a character i know nothing about. If your a horror fan see it its its own thing

It doesn't advance anyone's story, particularly Strange's. His only arc in the movie is basically just him going from mildly regretting how things ended up with his ex to kind of resolving to patch things up with her somehow or at least having a talk with her... but then he doesn't even get to do that. I mean, that's it, right? Did I miss anything else?

Wanda gets resolution from Wandavision, I guess, and gives up the ghost about her fake kids. But that's all. And then they kill her. Though not even so much as a name drop of Vision at all or even her dead brother. Wouldn't she also want a universe where her twin brother and husband are OK, too, while she's at it? Odd.

And yeah, very underwhelming. It'd be one thing if it was just "Doctor Strange 2." But it's the "Multiverse of Madness." He visits a grand total of two other universes in the movie and one of the two universe's sole inhabitant is an alternate version of him. I can definitely surmise that the Illuminati were what they did all the big reshoots to include. If you take out their whole involvement it wouldn't impact the main story at all. And think about it... what really did we get out of this movie? What new thing or building block was established? There's nothing. It introduced us to Multiversal girl and that's about it. I have no idea, but presumably she'll get her own movie or Disney+ show where she goes off and rescues her moms, so it's like this movie only exists to make more people interested in seeing that than the 5 that would otherwise.
I don't want to beat a drum too much about what I expected or hoped would be in the movie (appearances from portions of the Fox X-Men lineup, both generations, Nic Cage Ghost Rider, some Punishers other than Bernthal, either or both of the two last Fantastic Four bunches, some Spider-Men -- especially more Maguire, because it's Raimi -- but certainly at least something quick with Deadpool... what other movie would serve as a better peekaboo intro for him into the MCU?) but I guess I was just expecting it would be more than "not one thing." He doesn't travel the multiverse, he just dips his toe in.

One thing that IS kind of neat is the clue they dropped about the Fantastic Four. And no one's really talking about it. Doctor Strange indicated the Fantastic Four were last "trending" (I think I heard that right) in the 1960s... which suggests the rumors that the MCU Fantastic Four would start out in the past (like say, the 1960s) and end up time-travelling to the present to make the new Fantastic Four movie like a fish out of water story are going to turn out to be true. *

      * Edit: I misheard, apparently. This was just a musical gag. I take it back, then. Not neat.

I think the multiverse will be touched on more going forward. We still have loki s2 antman quantummania and kang. Apparently brice dallas Howard is rumored to direct ff or she will be sue storm. Im actually ok with either option. Also did you see the living tribunal in dr strange?

Well, this may be the first MCU movie I just skip. I really liked the first Dr. Strange, but I'm not down for incorporating straight up horror movies into the MCU, and feel like that's a bit of a bait and switch from the trailers, which didn't give me any indication that it was a horror flick.

In terms of horror theres some creative jump scares and body possession and some brutal deaths. Thats really the horror element. We also get to see living tribunal For a split second. Wanda wrecks the illuminati and kills them. Black bolt and Xaviers deaths were the more brutal deaths.
