All this stuff about Shuri becoming the new Black Panther is bullshit. So if Robert Downey Jr. died after "Iron Man" (2008) we'd have to make a whole new Tony Stark character that isn't Tony Stark with a whole new origin going into "Iron Man 2" and "The Avengers" in order to honor Robert Downey Jr.'s legacy? They didn't even pause in recasting Edward Norton as the Hulk for the Avengers between "The Incredible Hulk" (the Hulk's only solo movie in the MCU) just because they thought maybe they wouldn't get along with him, hypothetically. But if he'd died, that'd mean a new character needs to be made? I don't get it. Even Chadwick's brother said he'd probably want T'Challa to be recast. This seems insane to me. Just throw the character in the casket right along with the actor? Why? Is that really what the actor would have wanted? Did he say that's what he wanted? Now T'Challa's whole legacy is that he became Black Panther, had a reign of about 6 weeks, disappeared for 5 years when the Thanos blip happened, then came back and almost immediately died somehow. That's great. Really great. I'm sure they'll be talking about T'Challa for centuries now in Wakanda, with such a legacy they've hamstrung.

To be fair i think the widow of chadwick has say. Im just assuming. Secondly i stated after he died scrap it And do blue marvel or a storm series on the service. . I only support wakanda forever because it honors chadwick and i like ryan cooglers direction. Its Also mentioned he died of a mysterious illness in the flick

How awful and cowardly. And honoring Chadwick means dishonoring his character? How?

Lets get real. If marvel had recast we would be discussing how they shouldnt have. Its a no win with fans regardless. Black panther isnt the only black hero marvel has. Black panther proved a black lead can bank a billion dollars opening the door for other black lead films. I think storm by herself will do great as a film. Shes already iconic and who dosent know storm? You can also do something with luke cage and misty night. Hell marvel can do a falcon prequel before sam gets the shield. Similar to black widow. As for namor i dig the change in terms of Aztec but if they eliminate the facial hair add the pointy ears it be perfect. The head dress im mixed on

Given that infinitry war took place about 2 years after civil war and the first black panther took place days to weeks after Civil war he would have more of a legacy as king than a few weeks, and he was also the black panther before civil war so he has that legacy as the protector of wakanda for quite a bit.

And they arent making a new character, they are following precedence in the comics because Shuri has been Black Panther before. The only solid info we have towards Shuri being BP is the lego sets. Which arent always the most concrete.

What exactly are the reasons on the "they shouldn't have" side of the argument? I'd like to hear them. And fuck the fans... make the decision and stick to it, no cowardice.

I would bet that they didnt want to deal with comparisons between the actors. And I dont nessecarily think whatever actor it wouldve been would want that pressure either.

I honestly dont know. Im not kevin feigie. All i can do is assume thats all. I cant imagine that decision being easy to make. Also who would you cast? And would that casting be able to come close to boseman in terms of acting? Would that casting even want to try And fill those shoes?
