  • I would have, but he had the car. I flew in from the Bay Area and he drove down from Utah. We were staying with his family in El Cajon, which is about 15 miles away from San Diego.

A friend of mine that owns a comic book store has a DK arcade machine in his house. I played once about 5 years ago and got 100,000 + score, which is still the high score today.

I'm pretty good at Pac-Man too, not Perfect Pac-Man, but pretty darn good. I could get to the "Key" levels.

I had a bloody good time watching this film. I almost liked it as much as the original. This film didn't have a strong central character as the original. Actually, the villain, played by Eva Green, was more compelling than the main character.

This film has everything most adolescent teenager would love; sex, violence and great visuals.

"If we allow ourselves to be full of hate, then they've won. We must not let them take our hearts."

It sounds like an exploitation flick, but it's a pretty good movie about a real-life reformed junkie who ends up a missionary in Sudan. When he comes across the militias pillaging villages and abducting boys he starts shooting back.

          • About Last Night - Funny stuff. Kevin Hart & Regina Hall have great chemistry. They are hilarious and the movie suffers greatly when they aren't on screen.

            • Best Man Holiday - Although this runs a bit long at 2 hours, it was entertaining all the way through... and I had no idea that this was a sequel of sorts.

              • Robocop (2014)

If you were a huge fan of the original film, you may not enjoy this film as much as the remake doesn't have the satire and humor. However, if you're looking for a more realistic, scientific and political approach to Robocop, then you'll probably enjoy.

The biggest difference between the original and remake, besides the humor and satire, is the character development and supporting characters. The original, Officier Murphy is trying to reconnect with his humanity; in the remake, Officier Murphy's character retains his humanity but it interfere's with his programming, or at least what his "handlers" think his programming should be. Additionally, Murphy is given a wife and son to provide that strong connection to his humanity.

Overall, I thought the movie was pretty good, but I enjoyed the original movie so much better.

*It's hard to believe this is almost 8 years old. It really feels like just the other day when I (having read the book a few months earlier) was sitting in the theater and watching this.

                      • Transformers (2007)

"I bought a car, and it turned out to be an alien robot. Who knew?"

                        Young Mr. Lincoln (1939)

"By jing, that's all there is to it; Right and Wrong."

One of Henry Fonda's earliest roles and an early Ford movie. This covers Lincoln starting his law practice but focuses on the famous case where he cited the almanac.

                        Play It Again Sam (1972)

"What are you doing Saturday night?
                        --Committing suicide.
                        --What about Friday night?"

Pretty funny stuff again from Woody. This time he plays a San Francisco movie critic who wants to be (and starts to imagine conversations with) Humphry Bogart

This is another over-the-top goofy grind house film. Meaning, the action and special effects are very cheesey and the storyline pretty lame and predictable. It was entertaining as the first one with a good amount of eye candy, featuring Amanda Heard.

For whatever reason this was the last Kubrick movie I hadn't seen. Just as good as others of his. Shelley Winters and James Mason are great in it.

                              Thunderbirds (2004)

"So, do you still think that science can explain everything?
                              --Not girls."

I knew this was going to be bad and I wasn't disappointed in my assessment.

                              • A Bullet for the General (1967)

"Don't buy bread with that gold! Buy dynamite! Dynamite!"

An American joins up with a Mexican bandit gang during the Mexican Revolution, but while he helps them to secure more weapons and ammo to give to the rebels, his ultimate goal is to assassinate the General, Elias, using a gold bullet.

Klaus Kinski is the brother of the main character (Gian Maria Volonte's "El Chuncho"), playing El Santo, a bandit priest. Lou Castel is Bill "Nino" Tate, the American. The dialog and film in general are largely what you expect from a spaghetti Western, but it's still pretty entertaining and has some good lines here and there, and the acting is pretty solid (though Volonte's Chuncho is one of those changes-his-mind-with-his-mood types).

I liked it fairly well, and think it's worth viewing if you're into this sort of stuff.
