  • Django Unchained - I enjoyed this even more the second time around.

    Man: Duh'Jango, you son of a b!tch!
Django: The "D" is silent, hillbilly! *POW!*

    • Will Penny (1968)

"No self-respectin' cowhand'd be caught dead milkin' a cow!"

      Lords of Dogtown (2005)

"Hey, the only Mexicans my dad talks to push lawnmowers."

I thought this was pretty good considering I don't care at all about skating.

The legit documentary on the group, I think, is more interesting.

        • Glengary Glen Ross (1992)

          "Coffee's for closers only."

          Dumb and Dumber (1994)

"Tell her I'm rich, and I'm good looking, and I have, uh, a rapist's wit."

This is one of those movies I avoided because I really didn't like Carey back in the day (not that I'm a fan now), but with the sequel coming out and admitting it is a cult favorite, I decided to watch it. And, yes, it was stupid but I would be lying if I said I never laughed.

Once Upon a Time in China (1991)

"Why so many swords and daggers on the table?"

I was expecting something more for the fame of this series, but I guess it's as much about the drama as the fights. Sadly, the DVD transfer is subpar (imho). The final fight was awesome, though.

I saw that is on Instant Netflix for the next couple days. I'm hoping to fit it in.

I thought Ledger was really good in Lords of Dogtown, though

Oh, Ledger was one of- if not the best, part of that movie. I dug Tony Alva, though.

" This is concrete warfare we're talking about... if you're going to ride you gotta get on that s**t."

Just watched it, thanks. And it's definitely better (or at least it's a better documentary than the other film is a historical teen drama).

Very good. And you can see the influence on Lords of Dogtown.

These were bad boys, but so talented.

They were kids, had fame and money handed to them; they lived a lifestyle anyone else that age and in that position would've led, but I admire their dedication to their craft.

Yeah, the similarities are there, probably because Stacy Peralta wrote both films. If ever there was someone to take their story to film, its the guy who took part and then went into the film industry.

                  Cass Hamada:
"For 10 years, I have done the best I could to raise you. Have I been perfect? No. Do I know anything about children? No! Should I have picked up a book on parenting?! PROBABLY! Where was I going with this? I had a point."

Literally one of the best films I've ever seen. Can't say enough good things about it. Highly recommend if you are: living.

                  • I bet they were happy the DVD came out almost IMMEDIATELY after they won Best Animated Feature. That had to boost sales a bit.

Oh yeah, most definitely. Also, every store I've been too have been totally cleared of all BH6 merchandise. I'm just looking for the GoGo figure. They are in high demand at the moment. But, alas, Doom has patience.

                      • I wanted to get the Plush Baymax for my son for Christmas, but the entire country apparently sold out immediately (and I wasn't going to go for the ones people were offering to ship from China). I think they might be back in stock now, but the DVD release might have cleaned them out again.

I know a guy who is selling the one that talks if you push his belly for $30. He is my LCS owner. If interested, p.m. me. Be happy to hook you up.

                            "You handle your pole well."

Very good Shaw Brothers flick (I believe recommended by Purple or another MA fan here).

                            • The Maze Runner - I really enjoyed this, but they left too many things unanswered, like what exactly is "getting stung" and "what is doing the stinging?" The Grievers never really left the maze (until Thomas broke the rules), but we had to assume it was them. I kind of expected there to be flying mechanical insects doing the stinging after seeing the Grievers for the first time. Also, how does Minho's "Tony Curtis" hairdo stay straight and perfect throughout the whole movie without Aquanet?

Wasn't me, because it's only saved in my Netflix queue. Have never seen it, but now I want to all the more.
