house of 1000 corpses was just garbage and pointless really

    • There was this series of movies in the 80's called "Faces of Death" or something like that. It was supposed to be the film nobody in their right mind would watch. I think I may have seen one of them, but I forget, and if I did, I guess I didn't react much to it. Just happened to pop in my mind while having this conversation.

my skin is just crawling from even remembering it not because of being scary but just the idea its a possible real thing

And that's my line (boundary). Not because I think I couldn't take the violence (although it's true that I can take a lot more fake than real), but because I dislike the idea of exploiting people's deaths.

              1. dolls just something about them creeps me out

              2. old people in horror movies

              3. the poltergeist movie. till this day at age 30 i cant watch that movie because i get this weird vibe from it
Dolls are a very common source of fear, especially the old ones with porcelain heads and rolling eyeballs. My mother inherited a few from her grandmother years ago and had them sitting on a rocking chair in her bedroom. I wasn't crazy about them and usually turned them around so their faces were buried in the pillow if I had to work in her room.

Tazz, what do you mean by "old people"? Like, the only thing that comes to mind is that librarian scene at the beginning of the first ghostbusters movie, but otherwise I can't think of anything else. Do you have an example?

If I remember right, there were maybe 5 or so movies in the series, and with each successive movie, the gore and splatter became less intensive to the point that, by part five, it was nothing to even gawk at, and it was probably one of those later sequels I might have seen.

I do remember very vividly though that video rental places would rent you a porno before one of those movies. They were very strict on the laws regarding that series. I'm sure that you could find any of them now on the net.

                      • Just finished watching this a few minutes ago with my son. He'd never seen it before and spent the movie mulling over all of the red herrings second guessing himself the whole time because the obvious answer was too obvious. The ending blew his mind just like it did for me and my friends when we saw it back in the day.

So goddamn hilarious too! Where did they get those amazing costumes?!?

Is he old enough to actually understand what was going on, though, after the end? It took me a second to register everything after the ending scene. Honestly, I knew she was the killer throughout the movie, but I totally did not see that ending coming and it kind of sideswiped me. LOL

                            • Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993)

Topper and Saddam are dueling, phone rings, Topper answers
                              Saddam: "Who is it?"
Topper: "It's your wife, Hillary Rodham Hussein."

This film is great. I personally like it a bit more than the first one, maybe since it has the "body count" scene (I also love the ammo piling up on the boat). My dad thought the various US Presidents at the groundbreaking ceremony scene was hilarious. Great send-up of the second and third Rambo films (though I do love Rambo III myself, as it was my first seen and I still think it's better than people say).

Oh, and Bob Vila plays himself.

                              Highly recommend.

Me too. I especially like when Charlie and his dad (both in prominent Nam movies) pass each other on the PTs and yell "I loved you in Wall Street!"
