Been rewatching the revival for the last few weeks, and finally got to the end of Matt Smith's era, and thus watched this feature event tonight. Still great. I still kinda wish the War Doctor would've just been Paul McGann, but John Hurt is a generally good addition to the mythos, and the Paul McGann mini-episode prologue was nice enough.
The Hellbenders [aka I Crudeli; aka The Cruel Ones]
(1967)
"That fella in the coffin, he's better off than me. He's got a roof over his head."
Who Killed Captain Alex (2010)
"Remember your training and don't shoot each other."
You need to look this up to understand it, but this ultra-low budget (reportedly under $100) flick claims to be the first action movie from Uganda. The 1 hr 4 min feature (along with a couple minutes of wrap-up) is available for free (with the director's permission) on Youtube. The only available copy (and likely to be only one since he deleted the computer file to make room for his next project) sadly has to be listened to with this weird kind of riff from a local DJ, but fortunately since he speaks in English and the dialogue of the movie is Swahili with English subtitles, it's easy to separate them and follow the 'story.'
"I think I'd rather be mistaken for a dead guy than a killer."
Finally saw this modern masterpiece after twenty years. People weren't joking when they said you basically have to watch it backwards.
I feel sorry for a few of the characters, but not for Guy Pearce. Dude is the villain of his own tale. Carrie-Anne Moss isn't exactly a nice person either.

Tolkien (2019)
"I love Wagner's Rheingold.
-Christopher finds those too long.
No, I don't.
-Well, nobody blames you. It shouldn't take six hours to tell a story about a magic ring."
Friday the 13th (1980)
"You see, Jason was my son, and today is his birthday."
My favorite (not objectively best but personally most re-watchable) horror movie turned 40 yesterday (just 6 months after I did).
My mother thinks she saw it at the drive-in and I was likely in the car seat of her Celica.
Subpar follow up, it's little surprise that they chose to stick it on a shelf and film a different sequel before actually releasing it. Still, it's not nearly as bad as some straight to video sequels can be.
