        • Decent, albeit restrained adaptation with a solid wrap around atory and general premise. Not particularly scary, and sometimes laughable, but still a lot better than I was expecting it to be. Here's hoping it gets the sequels it so clearly desires.

Yeah, this wasn't what I was expecting (thought it was going to be a framed anthology) and it didn't blow me away, but it was worth the $5 I spent on the DVD and I'd welcome a sequel.

            • The first Saw sequel since II that didn't seem forced, this movie actually manages to be the best film in the franchise since the original. Unfortunately, the shock factor was pretty minimal, as this franchise is so built on shock value that it can't really pull it off anymore. That said, I was unable to guess the culprit before the tell, so that's something.

I can't even remember how many of the franchise I've seen; five maybe. I picked up one of those cheap disc collections, which has the first 7. Thought I might catch up this Halloween season.

                • A second take on the premise that's better than the movies themselves, it felt like it was just trying to tie up loose ends from the original while allowing things to happen to another family. The twist is easy to spot, though I was kind of surprised by the conclusion given that of the original. I wasn't a huge fan of the ambiguous ending they went for, either, but the movie is still mostly fine. I don't feel like I wasted my time, but I'm in no rush to ask for another sequel.

Very dark, but good crime thriller/social commentary from Korea.

                      • Fairly decent adaptation of the OVA. The action is pretty good, and the casting is mostly great. The dialog is a bit clunky and emotionless at times, though, but as an old fashion revenge flick it suffices. Not a wowing film, but certainly not deserving of all the negative reviews it got.

                              • I figured you'd get a laugh out of that.

No, I didn't time it, it just came in the mail and happens to be 21 years old.
