—Jeff recommended this series, which we both started unknowingly with the 4^th installment. Very low-budget horror. ¾ of the series free on Tubi. Follows a rich psycho who employs a leatherface-like killer in the woods to hunt down people. Each movie seems to have multiple titles and the order/years are confusing (Tubi incorrectly lists this one as 2017).

I picked that Arrow BD up recently. The long cut seemed a bit slow, but I'm still glad to have it in HD.

—25th anniversary. There are problems with this and I’m only passingly familiar with the original, but I still like it.

Scandal (1950)

—An unusual film that closes out Kurosawa’s early period. Follows an artist and singer who happen to cross paths innocently when the tabloids take a picture saying otherwise. They sue and the eccentric lawyer gets stuck in the middle when he takes a bribe.

—By the book PG-13 ghost flick.

Star Trek: First Contact (1996)

/\ The 2 wolf Cop movies were great. I forget if Troma made them or not, but they sure have that Troma feel.

They do (crude, gorey, and fairly cheap, but fun), but they’e Canadian. I finally found a werewolf movie that could could count for Christmas too (like when I watch one on December’s full moon) because the first part takes place during Christmas (where he stops the Santa-dressed robbers).

Super mario bros 2023. I didn't expect much but man that was fun. I definitely not only want a sequel but nintendo has a great opportunity to do the same with other ips. Personally i want a battle toads film like this. I have to give this a 10. I really enjoyed the creativity

—Kurusawa’s first color film (and first after his break with Mifune) and probably his most depressing. Follows several stories of inhabitants of a shanty town. I felt like I’d seen this before, but have no record of it, so it was probably in college film class or something.

Clerks III (2022)
“Jay and Silent Bob are like C-3PO and R2-D2. They’ve been here since the first movie, which was the last time they were cool, but they’ve been with the franchise so long, they still give them cameos and put them on the lunch boxes.”
—Watched on 4-20. I don’t think this is as funny as I or II, but it’s certainly the most emotional (which seems to fit Smith’s character). Still liked.
