  • Playing with Dolls [aka Metalface] (2015)

“The pain he brings is the truth.”
—Jeff recommended this series, which we both started unknowingly with the 4th installment. Very low-budget horror. of the series free on Tubi. Follows a rich psycho who employs a leatherface-like killer in the woods to hunt down people. Each movie seems to have multiple titles and the order/years are confusing (Tubi incorrectly lists this one as 2017).

They do (crude, gorey, and fairly cheap, but fun), but they’e Canadian. I finally found a werewolf movie that could could count for Christmas too (like when I watch one on December’s full moon) because the first part takes place during Christmas (where he stops the Santa-dressed robbers).

—Kurusawa’s first color film (and first after his break with Mifune) and probably his most depressing. Follows several stories of inhabitants of a shanty town. I felt like I’d seen this before, but have no record of it, so it was probably in college film class or something.

—Watched on 4-20. I don’t think this is as funny as I or II, but it’s certainly the most emotional (which seems to fit Smith’s character). Still liked.
