(L.E.T.H.A.L Ladies) Return to Savage Beach (1998)
lethal-ladies-return-to-savage-beach-dvd-movie-cover.jpg?v=1456706201.jpg
“By now, don’t you know that everything I touch is ready to explode?”
—The final of my 12-movie Andy Sidaris collection (and the last he made). Re-watched the whole set and features.
Werewolves (2020)
513-G+0xbHL._SY300_.jpg
"Russian tradition dictates that a werewolf can be recognized by bristles under the tongue."
A short(ish) documentary (43 mins) and cheap (they use those public domain videos), but alright. Covers the history of the lore (like the example quote) and stories. My choice for the full moon watch this month.
Matrix Resurrections (2021)
1000?cb=20220218002244.jpg
“The packet in front of you has our focus group research. Inside you’ll find the breakdown, including key word association with the brand, the top two being originality and fresh, which I think are great things to keep in mind as you begin working on Matrix 4.”
—Didn’t particularly like this, but it’s probably better than #3. The self-awareness (like in the quote) doesn’t negate the criticism. But I did like different bits.
Hobson’s Choice (1954)
hobsons-choice-britain-1954-from-left-brenda-de-banzie-john-mills-k3hreb.jpg
“I’m not so fond of the sound of your voice as you are.”
—70th anniversary. Great David Lean film.
Repo Man (1984)
0*gtbtHeW9sY-Jz2oo..jpg
“It happens sometimes. People just explode. Natural causes.”
—40th anniversary. Several reviewers I like love this film, so I checked it out from the library, but it turned out I had seen it. It must’ve been years ago, though since I didn’t post it here. Guess I liked it more than I did when I rated it 2 stars on Netflix, but didn’t love it.

andy-warhols-dracula-one-sheet.jpg

—50th anniversary of the campy Warhol-produced flick starring Udo Kier as the titular count now in 1920 and in desperate need of the hard-to-find blood of a virgin.
This Is Spinal Tap (1984)
thisisspinaltap_29324__02817.1607302273.jpg?c=2.jpg

—40th anniversary.
300 (2006)
s-l500.jpg
“Haven't you noticed? We've been sharing our culture with you all morning.”
—Not an anniversary, but before watching the sequel for its anniversary, I wanted to revisit this.

“Only the Athenians themselves exist, and the fate of the world hangs on their every syllable. Only the Athenians exist and only stout wooden ships can save them. Wooden ships, and a tidal wave of heroes’ blood.”
—10th anniversary. I know this movie isn’t great, but I like it, mostly because it depicts one of the most important battles in world history.
Beyond the Time Barrier (1960)
p5001_p_v8_aa.jpg
“I don’t trust that man. Especially his thoughts.”
—Free on Youtube. Watched when I heard the future that the pilot travels to is 2024. Not bad.

—30th anniversary.
Splash (1983/1984)
“You know why she left Freddie? Because I didn't love her.
-That b***h!”

The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
“Did he just throw my cat out of the window?”
—Checked this out from the library for its 10th anniversary but between realizing I hadn’t seen it and running out of time, I missed the actual day by a few. Still ended up liking it as I do with most Wes Anderson flicks.
Dune: Part II (2024)
“There is a narrow way through.”
[Rifftrax:] Stone Cold (1991/2015)
“An unconventional pet?! I’m starting to think this guy doesn’t play by the rules.”
Guarding Tess (1994)
“Uh, copy that Doug, but I believe we’ve lost in interest in peas, repeat, lost interest in peas.”
—Missed the 30th anniversary by one day because I ran out of time, but it had been a while and it was still entertaining.
Machine Gun Kelley (1958)
“Tell your old lady to keep her wise cracks behind her teeth or shess gonna be wearing false ones!”
—This week’s Roger Corman flick and an early one starring Charles Bronson. Alright. Free on Youtube and Tubi.
G.I. Joe: Operation Dragonfire (1989)
“G.I. Joe has a pretty good memory too.”
—Serialized miniseries that bridged the Sunbow and DIC animated series. I was stoked to recognize the voice of Jim Byrnes (who played watcher Joe Dawson in Highlander).Last edited by Space Cop; 03-17-2024, 02:12 AM.

—60th anniversary. Alright. Undoubtedly not PC now.
Dawn of the Dead (2004)

—60th anniversary of Herschell Gordon Lewis’schlock classic.

—Early Corman and Shatner flick about a man who comes into a southern town to rouse the locals against state-mandated school integration but loses control (seemingly his only real motive) of the mob. Free on Youtube.
