That is a rough, but good movie. It was recommended to me when I told a friend I like movies about professional killers. Speaking of which (and also a Benecio del Toro movie):

Something that has bothered me since I can remember....why didn't Chewie get a damn medal? That's some serious shit right there. Lucas is xenophobic . I'm writing to the government about this heinous injustice.

It's clearly hidden beneath that built-in shag carpeting he calls his fur.

                            -Oh, f**k the future!
No, Tony! You can't f**k the future. The future f**ks you! It catches up with you and it f**ks you if you ain't planned for it."

If anyone has avoided this (or only seen part of it) because they don't like disco (I don't either), I'd advise checking it out. I had avoided it for that reason, but finally broke down and watched it (maybe in my college years) and it's really good. Gene Siskel loved it.

                            • An excellent remake that improves upon its predecessor in many ways. The effects are stunning, the acting mostly solid (one of Leonard Nimoy's few non-notable film roles that doesn't involve him playing Spock), the direction is beyond solid, Zeitlin's music is both melodic and disturbing sounding (he's one of the real one hit wonders of film scoring) etc... Not to mention like any good horror film, the movie builds up the suspension, only really revealing the pod people in the last act. Plus dat ending!

I saw SNF a few years ago and was pretty impressed. The disco music is really just background, for the actual story of the film, which is really serious and very dramatic.
