Last night's episode was filled with so much awesome!! Can't believe we have to wait a month.
Since we talk about both Arrow and Flash in here I'm gonna ask a mod to change this to Arrow/Flash TV Show Talk Thread and maybe have it moved to the TV Talk section.I LOVE conspiracy theorists. They are like human versions of the cymbal clapping, dancing monkeys. No one takes them all that seriously and they get bored with them after about 10 minutes.Comment

Arrow’s world will continue to grow this season, as IGN has learned Doug Jones will make his debut as DC Comics villain Deathbolt. He’ll be seen in the nineteenth episode of Season 3, entitled, “Broken Arrow.”
In DC comics, Jake Simmons/Deathbolt, first introduced in All-Star Squadron #21 in 1983, was a villain with the power to manipulate electricity. In Arrow, Jake Simmons will be a metahuman with the ability to harness and weaponize plasma energy.
DC Comics' Deathbolt will be played by Doug Jones on Arrow.

While Barry Allen/The Flash first appeared on Arrow, and returned for this season's big crossover storyline, Deathbolt is notable as the first time a metahuman or fully super-powered villain will appear on the series, not to mention make their debut there - though the show began to dabble with the idea of enemies of this sort via the strength-enhanced Mirakuru soldiers seen in Season 2. It remains to be seen if Simmons is from Central City -- and got his powers in the particle accelerator accident that has been the source of all methahuman abilities on The Flash spinoff -- or if another cause is given.
Jones -- whose numerous credits include Batman Returns and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (as the title character) -- is perhaps best known for his work with Guillermo del Toro, including Pan's Labyrinth, The Strain and playing Abe Sapien in both Hellboy films. The actor, who’s garnered much acclaim for his highly physical performances, often under makeup and prosthetics, will be seen later this year in his continuing role as an alien in Falling Skies' fifth and final season.................................................. ..........................

i think people just expect what they see in the comic to be the same on the small or big screen wich is fine but history has shown itll never happen not because of wanting to go into a new direction but the limitless of using certain elements. i mean think of parallax from the gl movie. can any of use really argue the exact comic look of that enity would transition well on the big screen with the director they had attached?Originally posted by Robinson View Post

I think something closer to Parallax's comic look could easily have worked on the big screen, but obviously they wouldn't have been able to have the same kind of action scenes with that look. Personally I would rather they had just stayed away from Parallax to begin with.
I'm with you on Galactus, though. I haven't seen his big screen appearance, but would agree that a giant, amorphous cloud (which is what I heard) IS rather lame. However, a gigantic human in a funny costume with a big hat would have looked laughable in live action. Heck, I think a gigantic human in a funny costume with a big hat looks stupid in the COMIC. A big humanoid is one thing, but beyond a certain point, increasing the size doesn't make them more menacing, but rather ridiculous, ESPECIALLY if they look essentially identical to a human.
