...Yeah, dude, they've been hyping it up for a while now. That's the dude from the end of the first episode. They've tied his existence into Ollie's actions as the Arrow from earlier on in his career, I guess. It should be good.

It was good, but the word "unremarkable" comes to mind, at least in terms of season premieres. A lot of the stuff that I'm excited to see play out- Prometheus in action, the introduction of the new vigilantes- will come about in the next episode and beyond. This episode felt like it was just shedding the drag from last season, for good.

I'll say this: I enjoyed seeing Ollie balance his mayoral duties with being the Green Arrow, and it took a grand 48 minutes before we hit the first (and by my count, only) "Shut Up, Felicity" moment of the episode, which is a massive improvement over last season. Also, Chad Coleman as Tobias Church is too cool for school.

    Bring on episode 2.

Omg the first episode was good. I didn't see the highlight reel with Mad Dog so he was a nice surprise. Can't wait to see Vigilante...

if it does affect it, the effects will only be temporary. Im betting the flashpoint stuff only lasts 2 maybe 3 episodes into the season.

really? Perhaps the CW told him to retract that as he wasn't suppose to leak until SDCC.

NEW "ARROW" CASTING BRINGS HAL JORDAN ONE STEP CLOSER TO STAR CITY
"Arrow" has reportedly cast Carly Pope ("The Tomorrow People") as a reporter from Coast City who, in the comics, is the sister-in-law of Green Lantern Hal Jordan.

According to TV Insider, Pope will play Coast City reporter Susan Williams -- in the comics, the wife of Hal's brother, Jim -- who comes to Star City "looking to make a name for herself" by going after Oliver Queen for a "big story."

Williams will make her debut in the third episode of "Arrow's" fifth season.

Also joining the cast of "Arrow" is Tyler Ritter ("The McCarthys") in a recurring role.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ritter is playing Detective Malone, a replacement for Captain Lance (Paul Blackthorne) on the Star City Police Department, for the upcoming fifth season. Blackthorne will continue to appear on the series as a regular, despite not operating on the police force.

The fifth season of "Arrow" has seen a lot of additions as of late, including Josh Segarra ("Chicago P.D.") as a new district attorney, who in the comics is the hero Vigilante, Rick Gonzalez as the anti-hero Wild Dog and Chad Coleman ("The Walking Dead") as a new gangster character named Tobias Church.

Just saw that on a few of the comics news sites. Goddamnit! Now I have to watch a few episodes of Arrow again. I always had a soft spot for the Adrian Chase Vigilante series

Report: ARROW Casts Its Latest 'VIGILANTE'
Oliver Queen's alter ego may have been called "the vigilante" in early Arrow episodes, but now, an actual Vigilante is coming to the show in the form of Adrian Chase, Star City's new district attorney, and, as in comic books, the anti-hero known as Vigilante.

According to Deadline, Chicago P.D. actor Josh Segarra will join Arrow for its fifth season as Chase, while Echo Kellum, who plays Curtis Holt, will be promoted to series regular. Vigilante will reportedly be an ally to Star City's newly elected mayor, none other than Oliver Queen.
