And drop the fucker in the middle of it. But you have to really get those sharks thrashing angry mad. Also make sure they are 20 feet or longer. And don't go out on a goddamn boat. Use a frigging aircraft carrier or oil tanker or something.

I'm changing one little detail in this scenario: replace the white sharks with Bull sharks. Whites are more of a "feeler" shark; once they figure out you're not a seal, they lose interest for the most part. Bulls, on the other hand, have testosterone levels going through the roof. Of all the shark attacks recorded since the recordings began, Bulls are usually the culprit. They even swim upstream in fresh water, which prompted many people to believe they were responsible for the 1916 Jersey Shore attacks which were originally attributed to the whites.

Almost more than the violence and gore, this is the aspect of many horror movies that really makes them impossible for me to enjoy, the tendency for them to have evil triumph in the end, or if not triumph, at least constantly fail to be defeated. I can put up with a lot more unpleasantness when the bad guys definitely lose in the end.

I'm surprised you even checked this thread out.

Yeah, I actually prefer good to win or at least to have some good survive (but I do enjoy some of the alternative anyway).

Part of the problem, say in the slasher genre, is that evil is defeated, but the movie makes so much money the studio insists on a sequel and they have to "undo" the defeat. This has happened so often that even if it's final, the audience doesn't believe it.

Personally id like to see evil win because good always does not just in horror but overall. Perfect example the power rangers franchise. You never get a evil wins outcome. Right now they brought back lord zedd as evil despite being turned good after zordon dies and his good essence affects all evil in power rangers in space

I've had Halloween and Bond on my mind all week. I've seen both movies twice now. I saw Halloween Kills on opening night with 3 of my old high school buddies in a theater. The second time I watched it streaming on Peacock at my house with my son.

I borderline hated it the first time, but also was laughing at the kills of annoying characters and having a great time in many moments. It was weird. All of the kills were fantastic and the flashback and Loomis in particular were great.

It was all the scenes holding things together with super cringy dialogue that was so jarring. "Evil dies tonight!" Ugh. I wanted all those Haddonfield residents to die horribly. The wimp nurse with the unlikable doctor wife? I cheered in their final scene! The whole sequence with the escaped lunatic? SO awful. I get what they were going for, but it didnt work in execution. So heavy handed. And at what point was I supposed to feel bad for that creep? He was undoubtedly a rapist, murderer, or child molester. I didnt have the reaction I think the film makers intended me to have.

The second time I saw it, at home, all of the cringy dialogue seemed less jarring and didnt bother me as much. I enjoyed it as a whole a LOT more on my second viewing I have to say.

I'd have to rank this near the bottom. Not as good as 1, 2, 3, 4 or even 5. Not as good as H20, the Zombie remake, or 2018.

To me it was better than 6, 8, and Zombie part 2. So... 9th out of 12 for me? At least right now. It may move around for me as time goes on and I have more viewings.

I actually haven't seen this Bond in theater and if I don't make it (which is a good chance since I'm heading out of town in a couple days and by the time I get back it will probably only be late shows) it'll be the first one since Roger Moore (possibly even in my lifetime) that I haven't seen in theaters. But it didn't sound good to me and what might happen to the franchise next sounds even worse.

Yeah. My mother and I were laughing out loud when Laurie said "an innocent man died." We were both like "innocent of being Michael, but he was a freaking escapee from an asylum for the criminally insane!"

I think the ultimate outcome of this movie and the opinions of it are going to be contingent upon the next/last movie "Halloween Ends". Then it will be put in proper context, but as for now, I'm not bothering with it again.

Heres the thing and im not trying to be cocky but people hating this movie have done nothing to make it better for them. I really want to see the haters do a actual story outline on how they feel it should be

^Well, first there's been 11 of them before this, so I think a serious option would be to let the franchise die. Not everything has to continue forever. Cut your losses at some point and have a definitive last one. It's so annoying these days that you buy a "definitive" blu-ray box set and three more movies come out.

Second, I just wanted a different ending. Maybe they could've beat him down and implied he's dead; ending with him being carted off. And skip that crap from Laurie about him not being human and immortal and all. Or, commit to that and prove it--like someone takes out his heart (that's not survivable) and the last shot is still one of him getting up (but not killing a main character two second before the credits).
