IN NEED OF SERIOUS HELP

So I got the game from my brother today as a birthday present and I installed it and when I got to the initial login screen where it asks for station, I went to start a new account like it said to but when entering my information I accidentally clicked 1999 and it entered that and it says that the age I entered is not old enough which it isn't but that wasn't what I meant to click at all and now it just keeps showing the screen that tells me that the age I indicated isn't old enough without allowing me to try and reenter my information. HELP?

EDIT: Okay, figured that out but now I"m having another problem. I subscribed but it's not saying I did and it says I have to subscribe to continue...so...HELP?...AGAIN?

Having another problem. Finally created my character and am in that Brainiac place but the game's being really slow and lagging. I contacted customer support and they had me lower the effects quality and a lot of settings to low and it got a little better but it's still being slow. Any help?

When playing any MMO you need to do a clean boot of your computer. That means absolutely nothing but the OS and your necessary drivers running.

Run your MSCONFIG from the Run option on the start button menu. go to Start Up and disable everything listed there. Then go to SERVICES and disable anything that you don't absolutely need including your AV program. this will free up a ton of Ram and CPU cycles to allow the game to run smoother. Also run a Disk Clean Up and a Defragment this will also improve your system performance.

I've never had to go through that much bullshit to install an MMO. (Some of that advise, especially disabling background programming in the startup is pretty dangerous advice without knowing EXACTLY what's running on his machine and what he uses it for, which OS he's using, etc, etc....)

Bottom line, if you aren't doubling up on the minimum system requirements, expect poor performance. All the defrags, clean disks and registry cleanings in the world won't make a minimum spec system run high end gaming....

was it running slow in *just that area*, or did it always run slow?

if it was just the area, then most likely it was network issues which places it outta yur control, and if was the latter thing I described then U gotta look at wat both D.A. & Raz above me spoke about and see which issue is the 1 affecting ya: yur machine is powerful BUT is wasting resources somewhere............or yur machine is lacking horsepower somewhere, and ya need to upgrade.
