  • The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Does anyone play Simpsons on IOS or Android? It's a fun Sim City/Sims/Farmville hybrid with tons of inside jokes for fans of the series. My Origin account is called MichaelHeide. Add me.

I have yet to buy any donuts, even if the limited Lincoln offer is tempting. But they are soooo expensive. 150 donuts (which is what Lincoln and his cabin cost) translates into $10. That's just too much money for such a simple game. Even if it's a very fun game.

If you have played the game, what are your experiences? Do you regret having bought donuts? Or are you glad you did?

Got it, but I just started. I'm not sure I even have an ID (unless it uses my ITunes name).

      No, it uses Origin.

Oh, and don't buy donuts through the app. If you really, really want some, buy them through XXXXXXXX.

Okay, thanks. I'm not desperate enough to spend actual money yet, but it could happen.

Okay, my ID is like my video game ones: Joshua2814

I haven't played the game in ages. Ever since the cloud saves were corrupted last year and I lost some progress.

Space Cop, please remove the name of the site in the quote. I've trusted the judgment of a Simpsons fansite that I followed for six months now. They made it sound like this way of getting donuts was a safe, cheap alternative to buying them directly through EA.
I was wrong. The fansite had been hacked by this other guy. Do not spend any money there. You won't receive a single donut.

^Done and done. What's the problem with ordering through EA directly.

It's expensive as fuck. Otto and his school bus alone set you back $10 in real cash.

Yeah, I don't plan to buy anything yet. I just started DC Online and may start Star Trek Online, so I definitely have to avoid these digital purchases.

BTW: you're listed as a friend who doesn't have Simpsons Tapped Out. I can't see your Springfield.

Yeah, I even spent the 5 donuts for "Add Friends, I Choo Choo Choose You" achievement, yet when I click on the Bart/Milhouse tab it has The Other Springfield and "Add Friend." When I click on the latter, you come up as an Origin Friend but still under "Friends without Springfield TO." I did click recommend, but I assume it's just going to tell you I recommend the game you already have. Very strange, but I just wanted to let you know I'm not purposely avoiding your Springfield. I'll keep checking.

I've been to your Springfield and clicked on stuff. Odd.

I noticed, thanks. That makes it odd too, since the game clearly recognizes you. Feel free to stop since I can't currently do the same. When I get some more time, I'll do some help or FAQ searches to see if I'm doing something wrong.

                            Here's what I found from EA's FAQ:

For those of you who have Android whose friends have iOS, if you can see and visit their towns but they either can’t see yours or it says to them that you don’t have TSTO, I found out that you need to make sure that your Origin account privacy setting is set to allow friends to see you. Hope this helps.
I'm on an iPad (so iOS).

I also found a reference to there being a bug that causes this that's common in France. Maybe it's European in general. Do you have other friends that can view your Springfield?

I did put my profile on Public just to be safe.

They all can see and interact with my Springfield.
