Speaking of country, for years now I've wanted to buy a Soviet Union shirt and wear it to work on the 4th, but always forget (and again this year). Mostly it's because I was usually working that day, and this one cook we had would always wear his " 'MURICA " shirt and I wanted to mess with him.

Guess I'll have to do it afterwards this year...

Went to market after work, bought six $1 small boxes of Reese's Pieces, put them into jar instead of the peanut butter-filled M&Ms. Reasonable facsimile achieved.

"Chuck Norris once urinated in a semi truck's gas tank as a joke. That truck is now known as Optimus Prime."

My one boss sent me a whole bunch of Norris jokes late on Friday night. I had a good laugh.

Apparently my stepdad bought a bag of peanut butter-filled M&Ms for me, Mom had a few and then stepdad put them into a spare jar he had. They then put it into my room since I like eating candy and they're on diets.

And I personally love Reese's snacks. The local supermarket doesn't sell them in the same big bags as M&Ms, and definitely not in as many varieties as all the new flavors. Besides, it's all peanut butter and chocolate, so it's good.

That Moment When...you come home from a shitty work day to find your hot pink thong on the bed because your mom found it drying in the corner of the next room, and she asks if it's yours...

...And then you ask her about the jar full of M&Ms and whether today is trash day, and she immediately forgets about the thong.

I had one of the original AvP books and picked up part one recently. Gotta get the conclusion some time, but there's no hurry since I haven't started reading them.

I think the thing that was off-putting at first was that they chipped away at the mystique of both species on the one side by weaponizing the Xenos and making them controllable by humans (the plan that didn't work in Alien: R) and on the other by having the Yautja actually communicate with people and being willing to work with them. But I just thought of it as a kind of "what if" tale and the story was pretty engaging. I also like the ending---victory at a cost.

Jeez. I've been reading one book for a few weeks. It is a pretty dense history book (and I read the chapter notes too), but still.

Yeah, some of them don't really connect until the third book, but it does keep it fresh.

Rock-a-bye baby it's time to break habits that you face sweet sorrow of the cherished dead
Blow in my mouth every breath I take although I need you I don't wanna bleed for you

...was one phone call. I'm deeply engrossed in watching Dr. Who out in the living room when the phonr rang, and my first thought in my head was that it was Mom. The thought skyrocketed out of my head. Of course it wasn't Mom, it was my cousin/next door neighbor Pat. But for a minute there, I had truly forgotten that Mom has passed away.

I just felt like recording this somewhere.

Woke up, took a ride to go get some food and stopped by the graveyard to see if there had been ay progress on Mom's grave. They finally put the footing in for the stone, but no stone yet. Updated the family on the slow progress. Then I took a ride to the Toy Vault and picked up an Alan Scott figure because I thought Darth Andrea's collection was pretty cool, and I'm missing Scott's presence from my own. As Parallax called him, I like to think of him as "The Statesman". I think that's...

going as Hal Jordan GL tonight. Looking forward to it. Today was kind of nerve racking for some reason. I thought a lot about my mom, who paseed away a few months ago. Not sure how to "get over" it or if you ever do. I miss her so much.
