If you ever see this book in a store, buy it. I recommend any fan of the Universal Monster movies read it.

Cool. Thanks. That might be my first purchase for the system (some time after holiday bills). I would probably try the multiplayer sometime, but I hate there to be witnesses to my awfulness on day one.

Awesome. That's Paul Stanley, and he's pretty much the only member of KISS I still respect. Lol Thank you in advance if you do pick it up.

Yeah, a friend mentioned Guyver to me several months ago. Have to look that up.

It was impressive in Akira how the perspectives were like camera angles. It was very dynamic, like you could imagine the script saying "dolly shot, cut to crane shot, cut to three-quarters close-up." I could see how it would be considered a game changer in animation.

Oh, btw, have you ever seen Steamboy? Besides being one of the few anime movies I own, it's probably the purest (like definition of) steampunk movie I've seen.

Now, I've also watched Appleseed and Akira (which was very philosophical).

I notice a trend in these anime where there doesn't seem to be a bad guy per se. In Akira, for instance, Tatsuo just loses control and even the colonel is just trying to maintain order. Similarly, in Appleseed, even the terrorists (who I guess are still bad) are trying to achieve a good a thing.

I watched Vampire Hunter D on Youtube and liked it. I thought the score (the main theme reminded me of Bladerunner) was particularly good for an anime film.

Yeah, I think it'll go on my list of movies to get along with other 70s car classics like Gone in 60 Seconds and Vanishing Point.

So there's this board I visit, LTS (funny name, serious business). It has some people I'm not too fond of.

This goofball is the worst of the lot. He's this utterly fanatical ultra-conservative and he's always posting bullshit from sites that lick the GOP's greasy sack. He's too stupid to admit when he's completely wrong and and all he does is mock anyone telling the truth, because FUCK THE TRUTH, AMIRITE?!

This loser claims to have gotten laid...

...Had better not blow it this time, or I will be so pissed.

Well, looks like I'm pissed. My plan had been to start a Phillies tattoo sleeve if they at least made the World Series, but them losing to the fucking Giants means I have to delay that sleeve and instead get a rocket tat I have long been wanting.

They better goddamn make it next year...

So Saturday, June 12, 2010, my older sister has her engagement party at our parents' house.

We had expanded the pool area and refurnished everything and my stepfather and I had even built a tiki bar (with real bamboo we cut and varnished ourselves) some time back; for the party, we touched things up and fixed a bunch of winter damage to the bar.

About 50 people show and I'm bartender, and pretty good at it (and God, did the party-goers love their mixed drinks, especially...
