It's possible, but don't forget that we already have Birds of Prey. Marvel hadn't had a team like that when they created A-Force.
|
DC should try to out do BOP and make a whole team title of all women. Like 7 or 8 members, all women. Just to see if there really is an audience for such a thing. Heck, make all the villains female too. Just avoid men in the title altogether and see what happens. Make it pass whatever feminists tests and rules apply and give it an honest chance. No romantic relationships unless they are lesbian. None of the heroes in sexy revealing costumes.

I wouldn't mind if they brought their The Pro game.

Great to see more of Amethyst. I liked the New52 book, and Young Justice should be a solid pilot for this new series.
But this probably means that Rocket Girl won't return. I loved that book. |
Everything we know about DC’s rumored 5G plan

Sounds like a good jumping off point to me. Unless it is just a gimmick that will be undone in a few months.
|
I'll probably keep up with GL either way, but if it's not Clark and Bruce, I'll probably drop the Supes and Bat titles.
|
Seems like an Age of Apocalypse or Batman Beyond/Future's End thing. If kept separate, might not be too bad, but I have pretty much zero interest and doubt thats how they will do it.
|
Maybe this explains the Blackstars business. It's a way to still let Morrison write Hal while somebody else becomes the 2814.1 GL. Then when the gimmick is over, it all goes back to normal and Morrison continues writing TGL.
That said, fuck this. This isn't going to save sales one iota, just push people out. |

The best thing about this is a new cover by George Perez.

Aside from the copious amounts of Batman related material and reprints.... I'm actually excited for quite a few books this month. Still got a few issues of Aquaman to catch up on, I'm loving that new cover with his tattoos. I'm sorta interested in how Superman revealing his ID will be different than the last few times he gave up on being Clark, and how it affects everyone else close to him. Hawkman has been one of my favorite titles again month after month, I dig the updates to his armor both in the variant and his Sky Tyrant design. Might get back into the Terrifics despite being salty my favorite New Age of Heroes characters are no longer getting panel time [Sideways and the new Damage], I love Rex Mason's dog! A 'Wonder Comics' crossover is something I have been looking forward to even though I don't much like Bendis' YJ. It just seems like they're trying too hard with that title now. If it was equal parts classic YJ and the YJ animated series... they'd have a lot more people's interest. Rather than creating two new legacy characters [Teen Lantern and Jenni Hex] and reimagining Amethyst, Bendis should've went the route of Marv Wolfman or Peter David and created heroes without ties to existing heroes or dug up more old/forgotten teen hero concepts. Flash is still consistently awesome. I'm also still picking up anything LoSH related, but I reeeeally think Bendis is wasting time with Rose & Thorn. I think the Dark Multiverse [Elseworlds redux] collection is what I'll put money on rather than buying the individual issues. That Spectre Omnibus will be MINE! |

I did that with my mother years ago. I got the books back in... not-exactly-mint.
