I like how she dressed in the Elseworlds series Evil's Might; a proper lady.

Joe Staton was one of the best. I get how some people don't like his art for how stylized looking it could be, but I think he's a really great cartoonist. He always makes such expressive characters, he draws great figures, and his action is really dynamic.

There were so many good comics back in the mid to late 80 and even up into the early 90s. It was like a way different (and better) scene than now.

I guess in keeping, my favorite Star Sapphire design is the Bruce Timm one.

I'm a fan of Staton and Pat Broderick, neither of whom is widely appreciated.

Too bad Gerard Jones turned out to be a fucking pedo, lowering the odds of collected editions considerably.

Which is a good point about how other creators suffer with the entertainment industry's moral censorship.

Big Daddy Dave Skywalker 06-27-2019 11:34 PM

Yeah, other people worked on those runs besides that pig. Such a shame them and readers miss out

Michael Heide 06-28-2019 12:03 AM

I'd say that is Jones's fault though, not the fault of people who don't want him to make money.

Trey Strain 06-28-2019 02:45 AM

But the Jones stories went uncollected for many years before his arrest. I think Johns blocked them from being collected, out of professional jealousy.

Michael Heide 06-28-2019 03:36 AM

Nah. I'd buy that if it were just Green Lantern from that era. But most of the stuff from around that time still isn't back in print. Unless it's a handful of Vertigo projects, a book by a big name creator (Flash by Mark Waid) or a massive event storyline (Knightfall, Death of Superman), it's never been a huge priority. I mean where are the paperbacks of Superman in-between Zero Hour and the wedding? Is the wedding even still in print?
When the rise of the collected edition sold in book stores happened, DC reprinted then-current material first, followed by early stuff (Archives, Omnibusses, Showcases). All of that post-Crisis stuff fell by the wayside.

Looks like they tweaked the coloring on it.

DC released a DC Art Academy featuring Liam Sharp, though it goes back to when the title was new:

Watch his 'season 2' become a new volume of the Corps, either called 'the Corps' or something like the abbreviated 'GLC' as the words 'Green Lantern' wouldn't appear in the title.

If that's why we haven't seen much from the Corps elsewhere, because this was Morrison's plan, then I applaud the creative team's efforts to get this franchise moving in the right direction.

Big Daddy Dave Skywalker 07-23-2019 12:54 PM

What makes you think he will change the title of the comic for season 2? Did I miss something?

Hypo 07-23-2019 01:16 PM

He's referring to the last part of the #12 solicit:

There’s no GREEN LANTERN #13 next month…but writer Grant Morrison is crafting the next chapter of this story, and it’s coming soon! Only there’s no “Green Lantern” in the title. After the events of this issue, how could there be?

Big Daddy Dave Skywalker 07-23-2019 01:30 PM

Ahh, gotcha.

Kane2814 07-23-2019 07:17 PM

I have a feeling the "non-GL" GL book is a reference to the "between seasons" issues while Sharp takes a break so that the Morrison/Sharp book can seem like an unbroken run. (and can also be collected together without the fill-in issues)

Yeah, I'm okay with that and prefer it to some stupid filler.

Michael Heide 07-23-2019 08:37 PM

But if he really renames the book, what is it going to be? Hal Jordan: Blackstar?

IonFan 07-24-2019 04:04 AM

maybe they'll fix the art while their/there/they're at it........... ya know in time for next "season"

Michael Heide 07-24-2019 04:30 AM

Nothing to fix, bro.

Big Daddy Dave Skywalker 07-24-2019 04:07 PM

I love the art. Gorgeous and timeless. Nothing trendy or "now" about it.
