Don't use ImpAwards.

If you do, punch yourself in the junk. Make sure it really fucking hurts.

Hopefully, you'll learn your lesson after that first punch.

IA is infamous for its images not showing up here. There are a few other sites that also are a waste of time to post images from, but right now, we're talking ImpAwards.

They're like drugs. Don't do drugs. Okay?

You don't see me using IA (or any pics, for that matter) because I want people to actually know what I watched; can't do that with nothing showing.

So don't do drugs.

 Um... okay? I changed the picture in my post... Better? (Seriously, WTF is ImpAwards?)

Agent Purple 02-10-2013 02:44 AM

ImpAwards is the site you linked to for your picture the first time around.

Fearless 02-10-2013 02:46 AM

Oh... I just used Google Image Search... It was actually the second image I used, the first one wasn't large enough.

MST3K: The Mole People

It's so fun to watch a bad SF movie and then find out they did an MST3K episode of it ... and it's free on Youtube.

Aged surprisingly well, even if it's one of Tarantino's weaker efforts (by now). I'm planning to watch all of Tarantino's movies (again) in the coming days and weeks, and I'm curious where it will end up ranking on the whole list.
One other thing: Damn, were they all young! Buscemi? Roth? Tarantino? Madsen? Even Keitel looks amazingly young.

The jokes and ideas that are good are really, really great. They are few and far between though. But it's great that every major character from American Pie 1 has at least a line. And there were a few surprising guest stars. Could have done without Jim's junk shot, though.

Lone Wold McQuade (1983)
"I always remember an @sshole."

^Action sidekick's clever quip or gay pickup line? You be the judge.

The King and I (1956)

"Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera."

Goddamn, this had amazing visuals and some stellar performances. Great sets and costumes. Yul Brynner was hilarious.

Highly recommend.

The People vs. George Lucas

This is basically the fives stages of grief Star Wars fans had with the Special Editions and Star Wars Prequel. However, before the grief, the love of the films and all things Star Wars.

Finally watched Dredd last night. It was like The Raid meets Punisher: War Zone. Lots of fun.

Night of the Ghouls (1959)
"Oh, it was a nightmare of horror!"

Premium Rush- This was a fun, leave your brain at the door thrill ride. Nothing too compelling and the acting was kind of stiff, but plenty of action and insane bike stunts.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2

I was a little disappointed by the film, as the Joker was subdue and flat in comparison to Heath Ledger's Joker and the Arkham video game version of the character. Additionally, I don't think there was a real climatic build between the battle between Batman and Superman.

Mama (2013)
"Don't go in the closet."

Darth_Primus 02-13-2013 04:47 PM

Pitch Perfect

This movie is trying to cash in on the coat tails for Glee, and doesn't do a great job at it. There is very little chemistry between the love interest and the main character, Anna Kendrick is not a very compelling character. They try to make an outcast and rebel but with a musical artist waiting to break out. However, she rarely challenges authority or push against the status quo and sometimes apologizes for her mistakes.

Sylent_Asassin 02-13-2013 06:49 PM

Push- With the right direction, this could have been great, but there were too many open-ended questions left over at the end. The "Mom" issue was never addressed.

Triumph of the Will (1935)

I wanted to see what this (arguably) most famous of Nazi propaganda films was all about. It was actually mostly really, really boring with probably more than an hour of just troop reviews and the rest on speeches. This was made in '35 and it just shows the '34 Nazi party rally so this is the 3rd Reich before it's broken any international laws or instituted much of an overt anti-semitic program. Nonetheless, "racial purity" is mentioned more than once. Strangely, when Hitler reviews a kind of works program (in a scene Monty Python used for its first episode), the Nazis say they will sharpen their hoes (plows) into swords, a rather overt reversal of Isaiah 2:4 (the verse found in the UN's hall).

Missing in Action (1984)
"The misfortunes of war!"
