If they wanted to kill Hawkman they should've let Deathstroke do it. I hope afterwards we can get back to the pre New52 Hawkman. Rann v Thanagar was only so interesting for so long...

Why?

Because Hawkman is one of the most brutal heroes in the DCU. Of the few characters who could legitimately turn the death of Hawkman into a knock-down, drag-out brawl, Slade Wilson is up there.

I didn't realize Deathstroke was so popular

I don't know, is he? ;)

He's supposed to be one of the most badass mercs/assassins out there but Slade's biggest claims to fame are knee capping a couple Flashes, killing that Asian guy who became the Atom for five minutes, and fighting off the Justice League. He's never actually killed anybody of any importance that I can think of off hand. With Hawkman you've got the chance to make a long term enemy once he's resurrected. Instead of using yet another R/T War gimmick, 'Death of Hawkman' could have done wonders for both characters in the Deathstroke title. If TPTB knew the clone Superboy wasn't gonna be around post Rebirth Slade could've killed him off too.

Tynion is now a DC exclusive so maybe he will get the book.

The back up in Suicide Squad #4 will have Gary Frank on art per Bleeding Cool.

Superman gets two villains but Wonder Woman and Batman are only given one? That's bullshit.

Fearless 09-20-2016 11:39 PM

...Can Manapul write?

The comic book community is coming together to help the victims of the Orlando shooting. In December, DC Comics and IDW Publishing will publish “Love Is Love,” a 144-page comic book whose proceeds will benefit Equality Florida and its fund for those affected by the June 12 attack at the Pulse nightclub in Florida.

“I’m a child of the 80s; I grew up with ‘We Are the World’ and Live Aid,” said Marc Andreyko, a comic book writer and screenwriter who organized the project.

“Events like this shouldn’t be compartmentalized,” he said. “They should hurt and we should want to change for the better.”

The comic will sell for $9.99 and is made up of more than 100 stories, each one or two pages, whose creators include Damon Lindelof, Patton Oswalt, Phil Jimenez and Olivier Coipel. “I purposely said it would be a one-page thing to get people to commit,” Mr. Andreyko said.

He also spent time playing matchmaker for writers and artists. “I was e-Harmony-ing people,” he said. “Mixing and matching and seeing who felt right.”

Wasn't a fan of his runs on The Flash and Detective Comics but there's nothing in that preview that makes me not want to check it out.

I hope that a Sandman/Locke & Key one never comes to pass!

I've given up on the new Nightwing until I hear something to change my mind. I tried Rebirth and #1 and just wasn't feeling it like before.

The art was absolutely gorgeous and while the writing had it's flaws it was good enough for me check out the next issue.

Yea, I don't blame ya, the book certainly isn't as good as Grayson. I'll be dropping it after the Monster Men crossover.

How'd you guys like it? I didn't pick it up because I've never been a Doom Patrol fan* and that Emo guy's solicits didn't sway me.

*I was about to type DP fan, but I think I'll avoid that one.
