Wasn't Neo dead at the end of 3? I haven't seen it since I saw it in theaters, so I may be misremembering. I was disappointed in the last film, IIRC, and felt it retroactively made the second worse, so I have only ever rewatched the first.
So, yeah, this isn't exactly something that has me excited.

He did die, but the Machines took his body away... so presumably he could be resurrected at some point.
I dunno, I'm down for Matrix 4. It's been long enough since these movies that I'd be fascinated to see what they do now with it.
Eh, The Matrix feels like one of a bunch of good sci-fi movies that never should have become a franchise. #1 ended perfectly and there was no reason to think the machines' defeat was anything but eminent.

Well... I think after part 1, they should have spent a good 10 years developing a good sequel. 10 years later after that, part 3. They rushed everything with 2 and 3. Between 2 and 3 there was maybe one movie's worth of a film... maybe.
