I remember Apocalypse from the comics, but I don't think I ever read his origin. Is it anything like this?

Saw the LEGO Batman Movie this past weekend. It was great. My kids are saying it is their favorite movie ever (though, of course, that happens a lot with whatever fun movie they watched most recently).

My son did have one complaint, though. He couldn't figure out why Zod was not among the villains released from the Phantom Zone, given that Superman had just mentioned putting him there a bit earlier in the movie.

Wow, I can't even describe this ultra-violent kung fu movie. You have to see it to believe it. A google of some of the gifs may give you an idea though. Suffice it to say I've seen 80s slashers with less gore.

Shutter Island (2010)

A federal marshal and his partner arrive at an island facility for treating the criminally insane, searching for a missing patient, but the more they investigate, the darker the matter becomes.

I have to say this was absolutely brilliant. The attention to detail, the quality of the acting, the foreboding atmosphere (both the man-made parts and the natural setting), and that what-the-fuck plot that just keeps your mind turning.

Just look at this astounding cast!

No wonder this thing grossed $130m worldwide, it's a damn masterpiece.

Very highly recommend.

So, I liked it, but it was about on the level of #7; over-the-top-James-Bond stuff. I loved the opening Cuban race. I wasn't too happy that they accepted Shaw consider he's not only a callous mass murderer, but specifically Han's killer.
