I've been buying the Kre-O Micro Changers Combiners lately. They're pretty cool, especially when you mod 'em to add in the extra team members from the blind single figure packs.

This thing is EXpensive. I saw it for $250 at a toy show a couple of weeks ago. For as much as people are charging, that tape player should be functional.

I would swear I saw a version at my FLGS once where the player WAS functional. Has such a thing ever actually been made, or am I tripping?

The only reference I can find on-line is to a version that was to be a functional MP3 player. Maybe that's what I saw?

I too, remember seeing a functional tape-playing Soundwave years ago. It wasn't made by Hasbro or affiliated with Transformers, though. IIRC, it was silver. I think it was inside of one of those novelty shops in the local mall.

EDIT: I think it had a functional radio, not tape player.

Masterpiece Soundwave is only that expensive because it's still a japanese release. Just wait for the american release; much cheaper.

The one I saw was almost certainly official (my comic shop doesn't generally carry knockoffs, and it LOOKED genuine. Plus it wasn't cheap, as I recall). Perhaps it was this one?
