Good issue, especially with the Daxamites attacking the Sinestros all over the planet now that they have Superman-powers; wonder what'll happen to that giant snake orbiting Daxam? I kinda like him.

As for the ending, I wonder: With Scar unleashing the first stage of Blackest Night, will the Sinestros and other criminals figure out they need to band together (albeit temporarily) with the Greens, or will they just reduce their chances of survival by continuing the Sinestro Corps War?

Overall an issue driven by visuals more than writing, which isn't a bad thing at all. My favorite moments were Lyssa being planted into the Black Book. If that's just a fraction of what's to come with Blackest Night, then color me giddy. The riot panels were well executed as well, showing off some quality action.

Overall I give it 3/5 stars. I'm more of a dialogue kind of guy, which was lacking in this issue. But still a good read.

This was a decent issue, and I enjoyed the art. The best part for me was seeing the non-ring wielder foes (Kanjar, Hunger Dog + Bolly) in action. It's cool that not every single thing in this comic is about those with Rings.

I also liked Ash and Saraak. Their little dispute harkened back to some of the older days of the GLU, where Lanterns wouldn't hesitate to get into fights with each other even though they are both part of the same team. I seem to recall that happening various times in the past, and thought it was cool.

Glad they didn't just scrap the Riot, but I'm not surprised at all that the Rookies busted out and helped. This is also the first issue where I actually thought "hey, the Alphas might not be that bad after all."

Sad to not see Vice though. But there are some pretty cool looking Sinners I hope to see pop up in the future, like that chick with the mouth for eyes and eye for mouth (EoT creature? you bet), the Robot, and the crab dude.

As for Daxam...it seems that the invasion has been going on a lot longer than I would have imagined. How long has Mongul been there now? Feels like maybe a day or two, but the comics it seems to be portrayed as at least a few weeks or a month. Yet the Riot can only be a few hours old...doesn't quite match up.

The best part was seeing B'ox, a highly underused Lantern if I do say so myself.

        4/5 + Poll Added.

I really really enjoyed this issue. I just read it over once, and I will admit, Im dissappointed I read the preview on IGN, because I got through this issue somewhat fast since I skipped the first few pages, but Im going to re read it again because I thought it was beautifully paced and I loved that it didnt go everywhere this time 4/5

Great minds think a like. 4/5. It was good really big cliff hanger and who was the Alpha Lantern!? The one with the tail. I love him... He was AWESOME! AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! The art could have been better. A little to cartoonish and the cover...

LMAO. I swear I don't do this shit on purpose! I'm the only one who thought this was just an average issue?

So has Scar been "outed" as a traitor or not?

A pretty good issue and IMO the best issue of the Emerald Eclipse arc. I really liked Kyle working a deal with Kanjar Ro; there was something very "cop-like" about it that just seemed cool. Guy using a staple gun to nail Hunger Dog was also a nice touch. I have been pretty disappointed with Gleason's art but his Alpha Lanterns looked great, particularly Chaselon. Anyone else notice Saarek lost his forehead jewelry from one panel to the next?

What bothers me about Gleason is not so much how he draws, but how he uses his panels to tell the story. It seems like every panel is overstuffed with minutia, with characters constantly packed into each panel in contorted positions of flight. You get the feeling of only seeing the story on a "big canvas" which kind of takes away from the characters a bit. I suppose there are a lot of characters and a lot of action to portray, but I'd like to see him take it down a notch.

Tomasi has done well pacing his story and juggling the various plot lines. I like how he transitions from one plot line to another, similar to a movie. Ash and Saarek are great and I'm anxious to see what they find on the Black Lantern planet. I really hope they both survive because I'd like to see them in the future.

"To save Daxam we may have to kill it" WTF!? Arisia's "Braveheart" moment could have gone smoother.

                    • I gave it 3 stars, nothing wrong with it, just not a stand out issue (I reserve my 5 stars for Watchmen level quality, so there's gotta be a standard to be maintained!).

I'll be glad to see that giant lantern around Oa be gone too. I forget, can someone remind me why Oa doesn't have a sun again?

                      • In Rebirth the Spider Guild was creating black holes through suns. They tried to do this to Oa's sun and Guy lead the GLC in an effort to force feed the entire sun down through the Guild's black hole, burning out their HQ.

                        • For some reason, Gleason's Bolphunga looked like a chick for the first few panels he was in. Other than that, I think the art was not only good, but better than usual. I like Gleason's art anyway, but something, maybe the inks, made it sparkle a bit more for me in GLC #37.
