Fantastic for Joker. Dropping less then 50% is nothing sort of extraordinary, plus it broke the record for the best second weekend for a film in October, beating Gravity. 350m is in play.

Given that its budget is apparently 185m, those Maleficent numbers are quite bad. However that's q1uite solid for Zombieland 2, and The Joker had another good drop.

Meh for Maleficent, decent for Zombieland, and The Joker continues its reign. Also that's a fantastic second weekend for Parasite. Getting close to the top 10 with only 33 theaters is no easy task.

Joker back on top. Pretty sure that's a typo on Deadline's part in regards to Zombieland 2 as well. Should be 58% not 68%, still that's a hefty drop.

Fantastic for the Joker. Parasite continues to pull in impressive numbers, however looks The Lighthouse has slowed down a bit, might not even make 10 million at this rate.

Disastrous for Terminator. Also congrats to Paramount for being the first major studio to have all of its film gross less then 100m since 1995 (also with Paramount). At least Harriet had a solid opening weekend, and The Joker had another fantastic drop, thoguh.

Superb hold for The Joker again. Shame about Terminator though. It's a legit box office disaster, won't even make as much as Genisys worldwide, and the budget is 185m. They were just asking for trouble with the title Dark Fate.

Ha. I guess it was slightly less on the nose than Terminator: The Bomb, but that's funny.

Yep. Honestly I get the feeling that filmmakers subconciously chose that title, because they figured the movie would fail financially.

Dreadful weekend. That's appalling for Doctor Sleep, and even the weekend's surprise Midway is going to end up losing money. It's time like this that make me feel depressed AF about the state of the box office.

Ho-hum weekend. No movie made over 20m, which for a weekend in November is poor. Last Christmas's numbers are especially terrible, it even got beaten by The John Cena firetruck kids movie. At least Parasite is continuing to do well. Could make 22m, pre-Oscars.

Quite solid for Ford Vs. Ferrari. WOM is supposed to be really strong with the people who've seen it, so I definitely can see it having a nice leggy run. Terribad for Charlie Angels, it isn't even gonna make 10m this weekend. Beyond pathetic!

Very strong Saturday increase for Ferrari. Should have some good legs. Also congrats to The Joker for passing a billion, first R-rated film to ever do so.

The Terminator might be suffering from both franchise fatigue and the casting of two aging leads in an action movie.

Charlie's Angels? I dunno. That's an old television show, not a theatrical franchise. It might have helped if they could have kept the same stars from movie to movie.

This sums it up pretty well:

If they had asked me to write it, I'd have done what the Brady Bunch movies did successfully. I'd have made fun of a dumb television show. And I'd have kept the T&A in it. I bet people would have preferred to see something like that.

"Get woke, go broke."

I like that. But I bet Hollywood will keep trying to get theater-goers woke. It's in their DNA.

Charlie's Angels was doomed regardless. It's a property that nobody cares about anymore. Maybe it could have done better if they could have gotten bigger stars for the leads, but that would have ballooned the budget, something that Sony wasn't willing to do, anything.

If Charlie's Angles had been a sendup of the television show and had kept the budget low, it might have made money.

Speaking of which, Midway is going to lose a fortune. Again, this movie just screams out, "Keep the budget low!"

One of the many things Clint Eastwood has done right in his career is his practice of keeping his budgets down. He began his association with Don Siegel after watching Invasion of the Body Snatchers and admiring what that movie had accomplished with a low budget.

Actually Midway only needed to make 65m domestically to be considered a "mild success", since it was an independent production, and Lionsgate just sold the rights overseas.

That's good for Frozen, although it seems to have fallen from estimates, still it should have a strong Saturday increase. Also a decent drop for Ford, and fine opening numbers for Neighborhood.
