Ty cant wait for the Staples to be removed. Been smoking a lot of weed for pain management because those 3 norcos in the hospital killed me. I felt so bad because i stayed with family for Friday through Monday and i was chucking all night . Lucky dr gave me nausea medicine because i Couldn't hold anything down. Basically the procedure is a microdysactomy. My l3 l4 l5 has severe stenosis to where a disc was on a nerve. My left leg from hip to toe was numb for 2 months and i did have a fall at home. Im glad i got it done because if i hadn't itll affect bowel bladder control paralazaytion and nurological. So far im great had surgery last Thursday walked around there since they kept me overnight. Got released Friday stayed at aunts came home Monday night. Medicine has evolved because the procedure was a hour . They fused my spine with no metal shaved off that disc and kept it in. I even feel 3 inches taller like if my posture is corrected. I feel great. Downside is no bendling lifting twisting for 6 weeks wich for me is hard because im one of those cant sit in one place hyper people

I'm happy for you that everything went well. My dad had a lot of back pain when I was a kid. You know how when parents divorce the kid usually goes over the dad's house on the weekend? Well one weekend I went over and he stayed in bed for 3 days straight. He had slipped a disc real bad and I remember one of his friends coming over and convincing him to go to the hospital. Now, I have no clue how you treat a slipped disc, but I can tell you it was one of the 2 times I've seen my dad cry....the other time being when he lost his mother. I just remember how red his face was as his friend and the paramedics tried to get him out of bed and onto a stretcher. He was tearing up so bad but he wouldn't make a peep.

Anyways, they fixed whatever was wrong with his back and he was up and at em again in no time. He did see a chiropractor for the rest of his life occasionally when things got out of whack. I do myself as well. We had one of the best in the business- the guy that worked for the New England Patriots.

Yea slipped or buldging discs are the worst. One thing i learned is scitica is caused by other underlying conditions so as i explain to people 6 years ago i hurt my back lifting wrong in a wherehouse. Went to er and thats how i learned of the stenosis so hey blessing in disguise because one bad situation helped find others. The way i understand it is stenosis is a degenerative spine disorder causing discs to herniate . I even told my brother to go see who i saw because he too has back issues and hes like 8 years older than me. 6 years ago they said lets wait about surgery so its possible they may do the same for your dad if he decides to go. I dont mind a stiff back as long as im able to do what i can do. I wont lie i was scared shitless Thursday morning but glad its finished

^They have to take them out separately like that? I've had a bunch of surgeries but staple removal was always a one-and-done thing for mine. Is that not possible with back surgery?

There was a shooting right down the street from my work today. A lot of gunshots, apparently from a location I had just walked by a minute or so earlier on my lunchtime walk. Freaky.

We've got police. A few whackos want to abolish, but they are in the minority, and the state and local government have no intention of doing so. They are having difficulty with retention, though.

Plenty of cops showed up for this shooting, in short order, so they aren't exactly crippled.

Thanks, man.

Don't take your mid life crisis too seriously. There is a definite light at the end of the tunnel with those. Been there, done that, sent the postcard.

Guess I'm going to live longer than you guys. I just turned 49, and haven't had a midlife crisis yet.
