This week's Batman #36 had one of the best Clark/Lois interactions I've read in years...which is kind of sad. I've enjoyed the Rebirth Superman series for the most part but they rarely use Lois and when they do take her off the bench they generally just give her a weapon for a page or two to make her look "badass". King went with what I really think should be the norm, Clark handling the heroics while Lois digs into the case using her investigative skills, it worked beautifully.
Oh and last weeks Super-Sons Annual was a Super-Pets issue and it was great: ![]()

I missed that annual because I got to my LCS late last week, but the manager is supposed to hold it for me on re-order. Now, I'm more eager to check it out.

Bendis, who was recently hospitalized due to a MRSA infection, is expected to be the new lead Superman writer post-Action Comics #1000, per Bleeding Cool.

Artgerm is a really amazing artist, and Supergirl is literally the only DC comic book that I actually faithfully follow right now.
By the way... I'm probably wrong here, but is that a gif of Yoko Belnades from Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow? ![]() ![]() Or perhaps Quistis from Final Fantasy VIII? ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() Okay, I'm a sucker for the sap, but I liked Superman #39. The JL should be doing make-a-wish-type stuff. And the cameo by Demolition Team. ![]()

It almost seems like the Twilight Zone. Superman is taking five steps back and putting his undies back on the outside and it's Marvel's biggest writer on the book it's all going down in. Is this some sort of sick joke? Bendis will be back at Marvel in no time bragging about undoing the one thing the New52 did right for the progression of the DCU...

Bendis had nothing to do with that decision

Maybe not but he's still the one writing it. I just don't see the point in all the recent belt changes Superman's had [it's not a new look if the belt and boots are the only things changing] if the plan was to always go back to the red undies come Action #1000.
Grow some balls DC and actually change the fucking design. Closest thing we've had to legit redesigns for Superman were his electric blue/red suits, and his black and silver solar suit. And Superman Beyond. I don't count his recent t-shirt looks just cause Superboy used S t-shirts first.... ~//V\\~

He's writing on short story in the issue.
FEATURING ALL-NEW ART AND STORIES BY: BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS JOHN CASSADAY OLIVIER COIPEL PAUL DINI JOSE LUIS GARCIA-LOPEZ PATRICK GLEASON BUTCH GUICE GEOFF JOHNS DAN JURGENS TOM KING JIM LEE CLAY MANN BRAD MELTZER JERRY ORDWAY TIM SALE LOUISE SIMONSON SCOTT SNYDER CURT SWAN PETER J. TOMASI MARV WOLFMAN And while they can redesign the costume, all the old head fans would just complain and force them to change it back, like now. |

Nobody's forcing them, they're just being nostalgic. DC/WB has done everything they can in expanded media to remove the red undies [JL Action, Superman in the movies, the Injustice games, hell they even got rid of them in the DCU Online game!]. I just wish they'd stay gone.
It's like those little bird wings on the sides of Capt. America's mask that used to pop off. Nobody misses those! ~//V\\~

I'm guessing you have not seen the petitions, hundred page threads on forums, and boycotts of Superman until he got the red trunks back?

Nope. Then again I don't go to many websites. Just here, the rp forum I frequent, then once in awhile comicvine.com whenever they make updates [which I think the site's pretty much dead now].
Action #1000 would've sold big numbers even if the trunks didn't come back, boycotts be damned! ~//V\\~

So, today Superman turns 80 and Action Comics hits 1,000. I'll have to plan it around some other things I have going on, but I hope to watch the Donner movie at least.
Here's All Access' episode on #1000:

My goodness. Nuclear Man actually appeared in Bendis' Superman #2!

Did they? I might have seen that and forgotten. I double checked that Nuclear Man hadn't appeared in some obscure panel in Final Crisis or something and the only comic he appeared in was the adaptation of Superman IV. So, in DCNu he was phantom zoned some time.

Toy Galaxy recently did a vlog on Who Superman is and whether he is/can be relevant.

Thinking about picking up Bendis' Superman and giving it a try. Anybody else reading it? What are your thoughts?
