Home Planet: The Planet Garnet- a.k.a. "Hellhole"

Fighting Skills/Training: Trained in basic hand-to-hand combat, submission techniques, and some guerilla warfare. Extensive knowledge of blades, firearms, and explosive devices. Class- 5 space pilot. Level 4 intellect without robotic upgrades, level 9 intellect with robotic upgrades. Enhanced agility, reflexes, strength, and endurance. Knowledge of simple and complex military strategies.

Ability to Use Ring: Zrax has shown an above average ability to use ring. His ring ability is ranked in with some of the best the Green Lantern Corps has to offer. Though bordering between average and above average ability, he falls in with those the Corps deems the best. This has given him a great oppurtunity to do good for Garnet, thus garnering the Guardians' attention, as with all the rest of the Lanterns who are ranked the best in the Corps.

Bio: For every good Green Lantern, there is always a troublemaker. Some of these include Guy Gardener and Umitu. But, probably the most famous was Jack T. Chance. However, Jack was killed in the Sinestro Corps War and his ring destroyed. The Guardians, not wanting to lose the progress Jack made on Garnet, created a new ring and sent it out to find a replacement to take up Jack's post. This replacement was Zrax-K, a former resident of Garnet, and the product of war.
Zrax was destined for greatness. His father, Xurc, was a highly respected military general on Garnet, for what little respected members there were of the community there were. His father was diployed and, in the midst of war, he met Zrax's mother, Lyrae, another highly-ranked military official from the other side of the war. They fell in love with each other and, eventually, and had a child, Zrax-K. But, this was during the time of war. If Zrax or any other sign of their secret life was found out, all three of them would be persecuted for treason against their homeworld. So, they all three fled to Garnet to hide. They lived in the slums, giving up their lives of influence to avoid detection by either military. However, one day, Zrax's mother was brutally murdered for the equivalent of three Earth dollars. His father plunged into a downward spiral at the news of his wife's passing. He became a depressive drunk and did nothing all day except drink and sleep. Finally, Zrax had had enough. Of both his father, a once great military hero now worthless, and of Garnet, a planet rotting like an apple core. Once he came of age, Zrax left the planet quickly and without hesitation to join the same military his mother had been a part of, possibly to escape any chance of being associated with Garnet, a planet he had come to be ashamed of. Almost as soon as he joined the military, he was shipped out to war. While at war, Zrax came across a group of radicals from opposing side of the war. Zrax was brutally beaten and almost, literally, torn apart in the skirmish. He blacked out, and didn't wake up until he was in a hospital bed. His superiors came to him and offered him a chance to save his life and keep serving the planet. Zrax accepted the deal, and was put into the Cyber-Trooper Program, a process which replaces lost limbs with new robotic ones, and also mental upgrades for higher intellect and better strategic thinking. He was the 54th successful soldier, and dubbed Zrax-K 54 by his superiors. However, this skill and knowledge came at a price. He could no longer feel or control himself. He was erased of all emotion and remotely controlled by his superiors. He was put into battle almost straight away and was successfully pushing the enemy lines back. Until, one day, knowing that they were the key to winning the war, the other side ambushed the entire Cyber-Trooper platoon. All the Cyber-Troopers had to be pulled in for repairs. This is where Zrax recognized the 1st successful Cyber-Trooper model- his mother. Her murder a set-up by the planet's military, he realized that she was the guinea pig for the Cyber-Trooper program. At her sight, Zrax, nearly shocked to his senses and through his sheer force of will, powered through his programming and regained control of himself. He then proceeded to free all the other Cyber-Troopers of their programming as well, not knowing how many more were unwillingly enslaved. He saved all of the others, except his mother. A general anticipated what he was going to do once he was set free. So, he activated the self-destruct sequence of Zrax's mother, and nobody else's, hoping that this would break Zrax's spirit and let the military regain control. Instead, Zrax, vengeful and furious, cracked the general's neck. Now, with nothing left for him in the military or Garnet, and being a fugitive and outcast, he left for space.
Zrax, now being able to utilize his enhancements as he wanted, and with his military training, he took up being a mercenary, killing only those he found guilty, abandoning missions if he felt otherwise. He traveled with several groups, making friends with some of the other mercenaries. However, he also had a very successful solo career. He even, for a time, rivaled Lobo in skill and in kills collected. However, if you wanted a precision kill with no loose ends, and not a smash-up job like Lobo, who was often sloppy, Zrax was the mercenary to hire. Eventually, during the war between the Green Lantern Corps and the Sinestro Corps, he heard that Garnet's greatest, and probably only, hero, the Lantern known as Jack T. Chance, had been killed by the Sinestro Corps. Zrax, now wanting retribution for his planet's only hero's death, he put a hold on all his kills and took up "Sin-Sniping", something many of the Mercs called it. He would travel and take down Sinestro Corps members one by one, as many as he could. Finally, once the war was over, he took up being a mercenary again. However, this did not last long. He was offered a ring, completely new, and Jack's old post watching over Garnet. Finally seeing his chance to make a difference on Garnet, he gladly accepted the ring. He now resumes Jack's old post, protecting only the planet of Garnet instead of his sector, unless it was COMPLETELY necessary to leave. He has now given up being a mercenary, but maintains his love and skill with weapons and strategy. He has currently taken up learning how to use throwing knives, the only other weapon he uses now besides his ring.

History
Ixion teth was born during a time of Genetic Experimentation by his planets government to “build a better soldier” His parents were Soldiers who volunteered to be Government Guinea pigs, the experiments were unsuccessful however during these tests his parents fell for each other and eventually married,
As soon as Ixion was born his parents came to realise the experiments were a success just a generation late
Unhappy to consign their son to life as a lab rat they left the military and hid their son’s talents
Teth was naturally agile and faster than his species, his strength was increased and he had the ability to learn rapidly, his immune system was radically enhanced.
After his Parents Death in his late teens Teths gifts was eventually discovered by the military after using his gifts to aid in the rescue of people in a burning building, During the rescue a fuel tank exploded right in front of him, throwing him from the building, despite this he was able to walk away unscathed, the genetic experiment has given him a dense molecular structure making him resistant to puncture and most minor injuries and fireproof.
Teth utilised these abilities to aid his people and his planet after being recruited and trained by his government who trained him to use his abilities, eventually teth left the military but continued to use his abilities to help his people and was eventually recognised on his planet as a semi-super hero.

Eventually Teth was approached by his government to assist in a planet wide alert
An alien ship had crashed on his planet which (unbeknownst to teth) contained a Green Lantern called Oliversity of sector 2111, who was injured in space and crash landed on Tethys suffering severe injuries.
However when the military approached the Tethans saw lantern Oliversity who bares an unfortunate resemblance to an ancient Demon in Tethan mythology,
Lantern Oliversity is one of the last members of a race long extinct, a Snare Snake, one of the most poisonous reptiles in the galaxy, and resembles a giant flaming Snake, when Oliversity landed The Tethan Military overreacted and Bombarded his crash site severely depleting his power ring
As Oliversity eventually lost Consciousness his natural defences took over and his body emitted a spore which renders anyone approaching unconscious

Ixion was ordered to approach and dispatch Oliversity as he was resistant to his poison and the fire he naturally produced, However as Teth approached he recognised the injuries as severe and gave assistance much to the tethan government’s disapproval.
Eventually another green lantern landed and took Oliversity back to Oa for Proper Treatment, but not before Teth had made a serious impact on him with his courage, compassion and his ability to overcome fear.
Lantern Oliversity was a very old and respected lantern and on his sole recommendation Ixion Teth was inducted into the Green lantern Corps for Sector 2109.

History
Brash, loud, always laughing. That's Lyesmith. Coming from a backwoods planet in sector 3015, Lyesmith's people are a naturally seclusive, nomadic people who live mostly in heavily wooded and mountainous regions of his planet. The Brokkr (which is what the call themselves) are considered a myth-like dwarven race by the larger, more plentiful races of their homeworld. Once a peaceful race, the Brokkr were hunted and ran off by the larger races for their appearance, as they have rows of sharp teeth and a long, pointed tail and pitch-black eyes. Claimed "unholy" by the larger races, the Brokkr were hunted and killed where-ever found. Thus the reasoning for their secluded living. Once a peaceful race known for making ales and mead (which they taught the larger races to do, despite the larger races omitting that out of their told history), they now are known more for the mischief and mayhem they cause, venturing into the larger races' cities and homes at night to destroy machines and stealing goods they might need (or want, depending on what catches their fancy!).

Lyesmith enjoyed setting up pranks on the larger races; the more elaborate the better! He found pranking and fooling the more hateful and malcontent of the larger races to be the most satisfying. He (despite the constant nagging concerns of his elders) ventures into the cities of the larger races dressed as businessmen and merchants of small height. Among Lyesmith's most proud accomplishments, he once convinced a wealthy Vicar to purchase a broach that was fashioned out of a piece of bear (or what amounts to bears on Lyesmith's homeworld) dung, becoming the laughing stock of town when he wore it in public days later.

The Brokkr's theft and destruction of the larger races' property steadily became more and more dangerous of late, Lyesmith realized. He spoke out against it. Yes, the larger races had wronged them. Sure, there was no harm in taken of some fruit, or making it harder for the larger races to tear down trees by sabotaging their equipment, but some of his people were laying traps that were bringing lives in danger; innocent lives, often putting children at risk. Lyesmith stood up against this. His people informed him to join them in their cause, taking back land that was theirs, and teaching the larger races their place in the world or to stand aside and let them do what he was too cowardice to accomplish. Lyesmith, unable to willingly bring anyone's life into harms way, as well as unable to just stand aside and let someone else do so, decided he had to act.

The Brokkr planned on a raid to the nearest town late one night. Lyesmith declined an offer to go, and knew that now would be the time to act against his people, keeping them from harming others and turning themselves into the monsters the larger races once persecuted them for resembling.

Lyesmith traveled into the woods ahead of his people early, taking time to plan his prank. Lyesmith came across a cave set into a hill. Therein lived a family of large hill cats. Knowing full well that he (and any of his people) possessed enough agility to get well away from one such creature, Lyesmith taunted and teased the mother cat until she grew angry and attacked. Narrowly avoiding her claws and the snaps of her jaws, he lead her into the path of his people's raid party. He quickly hid from the cat, who heard his people coming (for they had no reason to hide themselves. No one knew of their plan!) and immediately saw them as her antagonist. She leaped, they dodged. She swiped, they'd flip out of the way. She roared and they scattered. None came anywhere near to being harmed, but in their surprise and fear they ran right back to their small encampment near the mountains. When the great cat arrived, she tore up tents and any other stable building the Brokkr had built for themselves, ruining their stores of food and generally making a mess in her attempt to catch a Brokkr. Back with their greater numbers, the Brokkr were able to fend off and chase away the great cat, though many feared she would return, looking for food, come the winter months.

The Brokkr (with some gentle prodding from Lyesmith) decided to move their encampment further away from the larger races (and the great hill cats.) and higher into the mountains. Shortly after, largely based on the willpower to stand up to his entire people against what he knew was wrong, he was found by a power ring.

Training
A very large pain in the side that Kilowog was happy to get out of training, Lyesmith was the biggest class clown. Heckling authority figures and classmates alike brought him reprimands close to a Gardner or Chance-level, save for he was far more likely to obey orders, despite his mouth.

Once arriving on Oa and taking part in training, Lyesmith's eyes were opened to a whole new universe of possibilities. His own planet having an almost medieval-like technology, learning about new machines and more complicated gadgets fascinates him.

Lokein Lyesmith refuses to wear shoes, or much in the way of clothing at all. His Lantern uniform is what he's most comfortable in; as little as his fellow Lanterns will allow him!

Ring Abilities
Always the trickster, Lokein Lyesmith's constructs manifest into is helpful to him and his pranks. His constructs become more elaborate in design and more solid in form the longer he has to prepare his pranks. While not one to hesitate in using his ring, he much prefers the more subtle approach, planning out a prank to trick and humiliate his targets while brining them down.

Never settling on one kind of construct or theme, no one's ever sure what Lyesmith will think up next. He creates costumes for himself, sometimes small animals for entertainment when he's bored, or even fictitious people to distract others from his mischief. Despite the limited technology of his homeworld, his grasp of complicated machinery can be witnessed in his constructs.

Home Planet: Boolean 1.0 A planet with a unique geology (silicon with highly conductive veins of metal and a unique electrical field that basically turned the entire planet into a large computer) that allowed software based sentient life forms to evolve.

Fighting Skills/Training: Byte is a software based life form that can interface with any known electronic hardware or software system. Byte is not just a GL computer nerd though. During the Sinestro Corp War he showed how proficient he is with the ring. Being bodiless most Sinestro Corp members thought he was only a ring in search of a bearer and did not register him as a threat.

Ability to Use the Ring: The ring coupled with Byte's natural abilities makes
him a asset to the corps when accessing computer systems belonging to enemies of the corps. Byte appears as only the ring with a green orb of energy surrounding it.

Byte's race is one of the most unique known in the universe. A completely naturally occurring software based sentient life form. they are tightly networked on their home planet. When Byte was chosen by the ring he posed a unique problem as a being only composed of software code he could not physically wear the ring. The ring contacted the guardians for further instructions. The Guardians decided that Byte could be downloaded to the Ring. The Ring, being able to provide any life form the proper environment to sustain it, emulated the circuitry found on his planet. Byte's species is able to reproduce by two programs combining their code to create a new program.
Byte gave up being in constant contact with billions of other programs and this isolation proved very difficult. The AI of the ring became his only companion. Byte's race has a strong impulse to reproduce when a way is found to improve the code of the species. When Byte examined the AI of the ring he found many improvements could be made to his own code. He combined his code with that of the rings AI, and created a copy of his ring in which his off spring could exist. Byte 2.0 was born. The Guardians were very displeased with this. Noting that the Corps would be diminished if Byte were expelled, the Guardians decided Byte's punishment would be that a firewall would forever separate him from the AI of the ring ensuring this could never happen again. Byte 2.0 was a concern of the Guardians since the combining of the code prevented him from existing anywhere except in a GL ring. He was a sentient life form though and as such could not simply be destroyed. The Guardians decided to let Byte2.0 be Byte's sector partner.

Kendal Mako Was a Thanagarian Soldier When Kyle Rayner Visited his world early in his carrerr. Kyle was the only GreenLantern at the time and while venturing in space Kendal saw him stand up to an entire fleet of Khunds and defeated them, Saving both his comrades and the people he was protecting. when given the chave to kill the khunds Kyle refused and took the Thanagarians to saftey. That act of Compassion and courage always stayed with Kendal through out his carreer as a soldier.

When the Thanagarian/Rann War started Kendal was ordered by a grief stricken Genreal to kill unarmed people of Rann, Though knowing it was wrong it was orders and while he contemplated going through with what the General and his comrades were doing he saw Kyle Join the battle far off. Seeing this gave Kendal the Courage to fight back and rise against his General in Mutiny and saved the civilians.

When his General was arrested for his conduct Kendal was sparred punishment for his mutiny but discharged out of the Thanagarian Fleet all the same. Shortly after He was chosen to be a RingBearer and began protecting his sector.

With the recent choices by the Gaurdians Kendal wonders if another mutiny is on its way...

Sector Number: Currently taken under Kyle Rayner’s tutorage as a ‘Time Lost Lantern’ and has accepted the home planet of Melmac. Melmac is located six parsecs past the Hydra-Centaurus Supercluster and had a green sky, blue grass and a purple sun.

1988

Jerrica grew up in a loving family environment with her younger sister Kimber and her two parents Emmett and Jacqui. Jerrica was very close to her mother and would often look to her for advice. Jerrica grew up with good values and with responsibility and confidence. It was after the death of her father that Jerrica discovered the Emerald Ring and Power battery that her father had kept secret from her.

She takes responsibility, is great with delegating tasks and gets things done in a timely manner. Yet at times, she feels to do things right, she has to do them herself. Jerrica is caring, but can be stubborn in some situations and can be a little quick to judge a person or situation before she has given them a real chance to portray themselves. Yet she will always admit if she is in the wrong and turn her thoughts around.

Things were finally turning around for Jerrica when she started using the ring, finally making the connecting with the “Green Lantern” that her father used to talk about, she assumed the Ring and Power battery were the same as the blonde haired man that her father had pictures of used. Finally figuring out how to use the ring, she went about training herself for a while.

After a few days of use with the power ring however, Jerrica was disappointed to find the ring had lost all of its charge and would no longer function for her, making the connection with the Power Battery, that she had until now been using as a paperweight in her study, she resolved to figure out how to recharge the ring so that she could hunt down the old Green Lantern and request him to train her.

Experimenting with various methods of trying to recharge the ring, Jerrica found that it wasn’t as easy as just ‘plugging’ the ring into the lantern and having it automatically recharge, setting her seventeen year old brain against the problem she came up with the solution that the battery itself must be dead and needed recharging itself, and using what little logic and thought she had, she wired it up to the mains of the house and in a final, desperate, attempt to charge the battery, connected the two leads from the main power grid in her house to the lantern and turned the power on.

Boom

The explosion was devastating, the house and everything within a twelve meter radius of the house was completely destroyed, it took the fire services over three days to extinguish the emerald flames that, for some reason, continued to burn even though there was no fuel left.

2008

The explosion that destroyed Jerrica’s home had somehow launched her twenty years into her future, and the ring that she had been experimenting with had become fused to her finger, making any removal of it impossible. On September the fourth, 2008, Jerrica reappeared in what used to be her house’s basement, her clothes torn, tattered and scorched from the explosion and resulting temporal travel.

The area that used to be her home was now a park land area, with strange people walking by and staring at her as she tried to get her bearings. Not recognising any of the landmarks or the cityscape itself she quickly found that her ring was completely charged again, taking to the air she moved to scope out the area, hoping to find something that she recognised, but nothing. New York was nothing like she remembered, she could find bits and pieces that looked the same, though modernised.

The clothes weren’t the same, the music was different, and even people’s attitudes seemed darker than how she remembered. Finding a discarded newspaper she finally put two and two together. Figuring out that she was now twenty years in the future, with no family, no friends, no money or clothes, no one to be there for her, she set down on the roof of the nearest building and started to cry uncontrollably.

And that was how Kyle Rayner found her...

I'm not sure if i just like this idea or really love it, either way i'm probably going to write out Jerrica's full adventures and training with Kyle as a "Timelost Lantern" in fanfic form soon, so even if i don't win, keep your eye out for Jerrica's further adventures

Fighting Skills/Training: Kid Lantern is one of about a dozen teenagers in the Teen Lantern Corps of his world. Given power rings by a dying Lantern, a group of kids were chosen to protect the world from an alien threat. Since then the young man has fought on 3 alien worlds and met many other young heroes such as Aquaboy and a world hopping Talon. Mason is a skilled wrestler in High School.

Ability to Use the Ring: Makes mostly cartoon characters and basic functional constructs such as bubbles and beams as well as tools.

Sector Partners Name: None. The Kid is currently training with other teen heroes on New Earth at Titans Tower.

Bio: Found on Titans Tower by the Titans during a training excercise, Mason Mitchell has proven to be a valued asset to the team consisting also of two aliens and an Amazon. It is believed he was transported to New Earth after an encounter with a reality altering villain from another of the 52 Earths. During his time on New Earth he has met with all of the GLC's Earth Lanterns and become close friends with Robin and Kyle Rayner. In Mason's eyes Kyle and John Stewart "make the coolest constructs EVER!" After roughly a year on our Earth being a Titan and assisting the Earth Lanterns whenever possible, on the advice of Guy Gardner, Mason had a new ID forged by a friend of Robin's [Oracle to the slow reading crowd] and set out on a new life in Midway City [formerly the city of Hawkman]. He is currently enrolled at Midway University and on the school's wrestling team.

NAME: Hunter “MANHUNTER” operation number 33

HEIGHT: 7’1”

WEIGHT: Oa-33 features a weight control system when not active the unit weighs 1,243 lbs the system is designed so that the unit will not activate weight sensitive booby traps. It also can increase weight for weight activation systems. Similar to the automatic light systems on Oa

AGE: Hunter-33 is over 3 billion years old. He was one of the original Manhunters. Few of his parts are originals from his activation.

SEX: The Manhunter robots have no gender. It is referred to as a male, given his nickname “Hunter”

SECTOR: Formerly 2975. Unit 33 now is now offline and in lockdown on Oa.

APPEARANCE: Hunter has kept the classic Manhunter mark-1 body style. However it has been modified to the uniform of a Green Lantern. The unit insisted on keeping the original blue face that was bestowed upon him by his fathers the original Guardians of the Universe. The unit is also taller than its original form due to the size some acquired parts.



FIGHTING SKILLS: Unit 33 makes a fine warrior due to his size and almost limitless strength. He is also programmed with the knowledge of the cosmos and has over 3billion years of experience. It is often joked by Rotten and Guy Gardner that “he is a straight up Bot-Kicker”. A take on a term used in sector 2814. “Butt-Kicker”.


RING USE: Hunter uses his unlike other Green Lanterns. He has been programmed with the detailed knowledge of all versions of the Green Lantern power rings. He has a vast understanding of all Oan technology.

BIOGRAPHY: Hunter was an original Manhunter. He fought in the wars against the Guardians but was not destroyed, in the any of those conflicts. However he was too damaged to function on his own, he was simply turned off and placed in storage in the temple of archives on Oa. He was later brought online buy the archive custodian Rotten2thecorps. Unit 33 was only able to do minor tasks. Later when Rotten was promoted to a different station on Oa, Unit-33 was lent to Rotten’s mentor Sinestro. Sinestro had it reprogrammed as a sparing dummy for recruit Lanterns. The Guardians frowned on the use of a Manhunter in such a capacity, but were willing to trust Sinestro’s judgment due to his status in the Green Lantern Corps. After Sinestro was ejected from the Green Lantern Corps, unit 33 was returned to his usual cleaning tasks. Later he was up graded with what is called a half ring. Half rings are power rings that have very little power. They are mostly given to new trainees to sustain their particular life functions while off world. Half rings store energy directly from the Guardians themselves, and can only be depleted through use. Unit 33 was given the task of informing fallen Green Lanterns families of their loved ones death. They would also be offered to be taken to Oa to pay their respects before the fallen lantern is placed in the Green Lantern Crypt on Oa. The Guardians would later use unit 33 as a consort in the next battle against Manhunters. Later the Guardians would leave Oa. It was soon after this that the Remaining Green Lanterns decided to execute Sinestro. This violated the the sacred law in place by the Guardians Unit 33 calculated that as the end of the Green Lantern corps and left for a new planet. Later he would meet up with Rotten again who was returning to his home world and would not allow 33 to follow. Rotten spawned from a war world and was sure 33 would be converted to a weapon. He sent 33 to a friend. The Friend was Eagah Vanskyvor. A super genius in robotics. He would later upgrade Manhunter 33 with emotions, and feelings. Thus the transistion was made from a Manhunter,to the human name Hunter.


Eventually the new Guardians would restart the Green Lantern Corps. Hunter was welcomed and served for a brief time. When the discovery of the new Manhunter threat appeared the Guardians insisted in Hunters deactivation. He now resides in the Great hall, awaiting his fate. Stel, Rotten, and Killowag have pleaded their cases on hunter’s behalf in this time of war, but the Guardians are not taking any chances. They are however allowed to update his programming, so it can still keep records and be fully adapted if ever reactivated. It has accepted all programs except the authorization of lethal force
