Isn't there a Warhammer online game? Surely that would qualify?

I was wondering that myself. Do we have to "draft" an existing storyline, or can we use a draft pick to create a storyline based on a video game property? You said we could draft a "You Don't Know Jack" theme, but that would be kind of hard to do since there are no established YDKJ storylines to choose from.

Like I was saying earlier with the drafting of sequels. It all depends on what you present and what voters already know. Remember when Deadpool did his Batman: The Killing Joke cast and was a bit random with character selection? Same thing applies.

Choose your game. Choose your actors for characters. And present your story, if you deem it necessary.

Here's two examples:

1. If I draft Pac Man. I have characters to choose from but no great story. If I come up with a story for it, then I'm taking the chance that my ADAPTATION of this game's story is better than what people already expect of it.

2. If I draft Sleeping Dogs. I have characters to choose from plus a detailed story. If I decide to modify that story, in any major or minor way, then again, I'm taking the chance that my ADAPTATION of this game's story is better than what people already expect of it.

There's pros and cons of changing a game's story. I'm leaving that up to you. Do as you will.

I thought the story arc pick would be the game, i.e. if I picked JGL as the main character then I would say my story arc is Pokemon Blue

Right. The game/story arc choice is one in the same. Not an extra pick. It is simply up to the player's choice whether they want to present the story for us to know.

Originally it was a minatures tabletop wargame. Still is, I assume, there's just computer versions now, too.

That's what it mainly is. And there's two different versions, Warhammer fantasy battle game which is like wizards and orks, and warhammer 40,000 which is futuristic stuff like space marrines and future soldiers.

So when exactly will drafting start? I have to go out of town from tomorrow to the 12 and was wondering if I should just email my picks in now?

You could do that, but it wasn't going to start tomorrow anyway. I want to wait and see if we can get some more people in it.

I had a question, and though it isn't specified in the rules I can probably guess the answer... can two players draft the same director?
