Good issue though, I don't mind the "New" Mongul at all. In fact so far the GL titles have had the best Villains Origins I've read so far.

Mongul maybe one of the worst charaters ever invented. He make me think about Sodumb Yat the Mongul Corps and a whole bunch of other stupid crap I wished the new 52 wipped out.

Mongul was never supposed to be much more than a super-powerful and moderately intelligent brute with a lot of resources at his disposal. That's what he's there for. As a Sinner, he made a pretty good showing for himself, despite the lack-luster storyline.

This is definitely a new 52 retcon because the Mongul Sinestro defeated was Mongul 2 and this one is clearly (based on his family origin) the first.

Generally speaking, taking the story on its face, I felt that this was one of the best villains stories I have read so far. Art was done really well too. In fact, I actually think the cover is the weakest art in the entire book, which is a little odd.
