Default emerald knights should be TAS!

I really enjoyed the mini stories of emerald knights and i just thought mannnnn why couldnt we have a drawn cartoon as the animated series instead? im just not a fan of the star wars clone wars graphics of the cartoon for green lantern..

but i know i know...at least were getting an animated series and i should be happy hahha

The movie gave me an idea of how awesome it would be to get a comic book series going back and telling stories of old Green Lanterns. You know, before the rainbow corps and all that non-sense.

Good stand alone stories, in a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic sort of gist.

Agreed with both of you. I prefer 2D animation over 3D any day and it would be nice if it was more like the older comics for at least the first season then slowly add the other colors over time.

I was only going to pick up a couple of the Retroactive books, but now with this BS of September I'm buying them all in hopes that this is something that DC revisits again in the future.

Focusing on old GL's would be perfect for that kind of book.

I definitely would rather have an Emerald Knights type drawn cartoon instead. I agree with you.

But hey what can ya do right. DC makes the decisions. We just put on our and hope.

just ok ? I thought it was great, especially like the homage to the kilowog training story. I think you're right the animated series should be like emerald knights. There's lots of potential ,I guess they could tie it into the dcau as well.
I think they're making the new series cgi because they've the whole Bruce timm style so many times, they're looking for a different approach.
I'm personally just happy GL is getting so much spotlight.

I thought it was "just ok" as well. "EK" was blandly animated, Henry Rollins as Kilowog was.....atrocious and the re-design of the main Red Lantern was incredibly generic. and god did I hate the sound effects, typically cheap Korean made crap.

I'm pretty sure they put out a series of TPBs called "Tales of the Green lantern Corps," I assume it's similar to "Tales of the Sinestro Corps" during the Sinestro Corps Wars days or "Black Lantern Corps" and "Tales of the Black lanterns" during Blackest Night. Someone please correct me if I;m wrong.

I agree, it was just ok. Was more like something I'd watch after school. I liked the gl planet. That was a cool story. The rest were pretty much the same. Got it at redbox so it was worth the $1,lol.

Yeah, I agree. I just watched First Flight last night (I'd seen both the live action movie and EK previously) And I have to say, the only one that I found stayed most true to original storyline was Emerald Knights. I mean, sure, it still is a ways off, but at least they mention Willpower controlling the rings (nix: First Flight) and they didn't try to cram any of Sinestros origin in there as well.

I just watched this again and enjoyed it. I was surprised having heard mixed reviews but i find myself popping it in and watching it from time to time. I have to say my favorite story was Laira's back story. A slight twist on her story but nonetheless excellent.

This concept of other Gl stories has immense potential to build on.

Yeah, I do hate CGI animation. It takes all the charm away from cartoons.

Oh well, I don't watch cartoons anyway, unless it's an adult one like family guy.

Yeah, I was going to say. You didn't strike me as the type of guy to be particularly fussed about losing the "charm" of something. Not much charming about violence, gore, profanity, etc...

If you lived in the US, you likely would have voted for Gore, thinking that was a campaign promise, not his name...

Violence can have a charm. For example, the violence in daredevil fills me with Nostalgia to this day.

Also, whih candinate was up against Gore?

Bush. I voted for Gore, myself. Had nothing to do with the name, though.

Bush and Tony Blair fucked up the entire world, probably one of the owrst things to happen to the entire planet since WWII.

For the record being serious now, I probably would have voted Gore (odviously not for his name ) becuase I'm a real sucker for promises of advansing technology, and I'm usualy an anti conservative (although I am leaning a little bit more to the right latley).

Well, I didn't really want to get into an actual political discussion. I was just making a joke about the name and your taste for gore. There's a reason I have Qward blocked for myself...

(Though I suppose I asked for it by making such a BAD joke.)

Indeed. I tend to avoid going into Qwad because everytime I do, I always get into an argument, and then I end up in a awkrawd situation for a few days, but I don't want no access to it as I might see something that catches my eye.
