i know people expect some biblical story but what else is there that has to do with budda, christianity, jewish or hinduism? they would never try islam for oviouse reasons... as much as i love the bermuda triangle idea lucas needs to focus on a zeus story or dead sea scrolls for a change.

Oh my god! You're right! Two stories is all that can possibly be wrung out of Judaism, Christianity, Bhuddism and Fake Hinduism!

Time to start mining the world of made up ridiculous bullshit conspiracy theory mythology.

I don't like the idea of a mandatory retirement age, but...

I'm surprised Ford is up for another Indiana Jones flick. Unless it is simply to set up, in flashback, a younger actor as Indiana Jones, then hand it off. Or maybe he wants to do Indy's death scene? I mean, he hardly needs the money, and he SEEMED like he was getting as tired of that role as he was of Han Solo.

People age in real life. They could just depict Indy as old and make it less action-packed, more mystery.

I don't so much have a problem with the fact Ford is old (as long as they don't have him turning CGI handsprings or something equally absurd...like surviving an aerial trip in a refrigerator ), as I am surprised that he WANTS to do it again.

Judging by the way his movies have bottomed out in recent years, I wonder whether Steven Spielberg should direct it. It's not as if he needs the money.

If this movie happens this way, Ford will be 77-78 when he films the movie, and turning 79 during Indy 5's theatrical run.

And it will still be 100 times better than Justice League.

It will be interesting to see -- for better or worse -- what an Indy movie is like with 0 input from George Lucas.

My personal feeling is that it won't be what people are expecting. It won't be Indy going on an adventure to some tomb or something, punching people. I think he's going to be like the team leader for some group of people, some cigar chomping guy (so to speak) behind the scenes calling the shots.

Maybe he'll behave more like a REAL archaeologist.

Eh, who am I kidding? Nobody goes to an Indy movie looking for that.

Indy leaving most of the action to a younger character makes sense. He could be like Sean Connery but more in control of what's going on. Too bad Shia LaBeouf turned out the way he did. I actually would be alright with that character returning but recast with a new actor. You figure, Mutt's character would be in his 30s now and in his prime for an adventure. He wouldn't even be a greaser anymore and probably have grown up and changed. That could be made use of in the story, and how his relationship with his father has evolved. I would do a recast and make use of the character connections already established.

There's nothing wrong with Shia.

My preference would be to just leave the franchise alone. I have the blu-rays. I don't need any more.
That's my answer to most of these franchises that the industry keeps wanting to redesign...Star Wars, Indy, James Bond, Doctor Who, Star Trek. It's no one thing I would do differently. I just wanted do it at all.

I can't blame you for that sentiment. Better safe than sorry. I learned my lesson with Jaws, Terminator, Highlander and Alien. I just can't seem to learn that same lesson with Star Wars, Indy, Bond, F13 and a few other franchises.

I think Evil Dead is the only franchise where I have enjoyed EVERY single installment without exception.

With Indiana Jones, I have this desire at the pit of my fanboy stomach to see them do one more movie to end it on a higher note than Kingdom. Like Rocky 6 did after part 5.

Yeah, at one point I would've easily said that as with The Simpsons, I'd never give up on Star Trek, Doctor Who, and James Bond, but Trek and Who are unrecognizably changed and if they really are doing with Bond what they're saying, I don't see the point of keeping it going.

I'd agree about Evil Dead, but I'm sure there's something else. I just gotta think about it.

Bond will just be a one time thing for the plot of the movie. I am guessing it will be like when Bond had to team up with agent XXX in The Spy Who Loved Me. These non Bond fans are just buying into the buzz and clickbait. Bond 26 will be a whole new thing with a new Bond.

I can't think of another franchise than Evil Dead where I feel that way. Indy is pretty close as I don't have the HATE for Kingdom the rest of the fandom does, but I can't really defend it either.

Certain franchises I can get into no matter what. I like the Friday the 13th movies enough that when I get in the mood I watch them all. I have problems with 5, 8, 9, and the remake, but I still enjoy watching all of those (admittedly not as consistently as the Evil Dead movies).

There are definitely ones that only have two movies where I love them ... Tron, Incredibles, etc.

I like all the Mad Max movies (not equally, but well). I like all the Scream movies. I'll actually defend Godfather as a trilogy despite admitting I would've done #3 differently.

I wouldn't call the F13 remake a remake. It was totally a stealth sequel to FvJ (which was awesome, btw).

My headcanon SO badly wants to make part 12 a legit sequel to Jason X and keep the timeline going! No way to do it without a missing story that gets Jason to time travel back to our time from 500 years from the planet we last saw him on.

Jason X works fine as the final F13 ever. IX => FvJ => F13 Remake => X

Explaining the different body types (and injuries or lack thereof) is easy... we saw he can body hop in IX.

I just go with his body and face bei g different from movie to movie because of his healing ability. It took Jason a while before he spent enough time out of water to stop the rotting and regenerate.
