As it should be. I always give my brother a hard time when he mentions that his kids are back in school already. That's just not right.

Kids do here too. My son goes back to school next week, August 24th. When I was a kid it was after Labor Day, but somewhere along the line they jacked the date back to deal with potential snow days.

Where my grandmother grew up in northern Maine they did that so they could stop for the potato harvest because they needed the kids for that. My understanding was that they stayed on that schedule in the potato towns until pretty recently.
